Medeama president Moses Armah has angrily reacted to claims he sold his plush house to fund his side’s CAF Confederation Cup trip to TP Mazembe as ‘preposterous, hare-brained and absurd’.

The ever-smiling and affable football owner is fuming with rage over the malicious reportage which was engineered by a section of the local media.

Some Ghanaian media outlets had claimed the business magnate had sold his plus house at Takoradi to fund the side’s trip to the Central African nation due to the club’s current financial situation.

But he has rubbished the reports, insisting they were fabricated to create a negative impression about the club.

“It’s totally ridiculous, absurd and reckless for anyone to make that claim without cross-checking the fact,” he fumed

“There are financial difficulties everywhere, but to sit at the comfort of your home and manufacture such a lie is unfortunate.

“I have not sold my house neither do I intend to do so.

“We have Goldfields Ghana Limited which has provided tremendous financial support to the club.

“They have been with us all the way and will continue to offer a hand of support to us.

He added: I’m struggling to understand the motive behind this reportage.

“But that’s the problem with some of our journalists in Ghana. They are only interested in manufacturing stories to occupy space. It’s just unfortunate.

The club has not denied reports of being overstretched financially but have never stated it’s in a state of comatose.

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup holders will play as guest of the five-time African champions in their opening group A clash in Lubumbashi on Sunday.

Medeama Reveals Amount Invested To Reach Money Zone

The president of Medeama Sporting Club, Moses Parker has revealed the club spent $300,000 before reaching the group phase of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.

The 2015 MTN FA Cup champions dumped South African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns out of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-0 victory on Wednesday.

The road to a group stage berth was a daunting task but not unsurmountable, and Medeama SC duly invested to ensure the surmounted the task that was before them.

It began against Al Shendy, Al Ittihad and finally, against Mamelodi Sundowns. After the historic win, President of the club, Parker revealed that unleashed $ 300,000 to qualify for the continent’s second-tier inter-club football competition.

“We played three matches, and the three games we played before we qualified for the group phase, we spent $300,000,” Parker told Asempa FM.

“We paid for our own travelling tickets, we took care of our hotel bills so you should expect more money will be spent but the most important thing is we have qualified for the money zone,” he added.

Medeama SC President, Moses “Parker” Armah is upbeat about the chances of the club, ahead  of their game against Al Shendi of Sudan, in the final qualifying round of the 2016 Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederation Cup.

The highly-rated Ghanaian side are in Sudan for the first leg tie against Al Shendi on Sunday.

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup champions, are aware a good result in the first leg will ease pressure ahead of the return fixture in Ghana next week.

And the club’s irrepressible president Moses Armah, who is building a dynasty in Tarkwa, believes his charges have the quality and experience to outdo their opponent.

“We have to be focused and give great performance on Sunday,” he told medeamaafmonline.com

“There is no turning back for us. The whole of Ghana is looking up to us and we cannot afford to disappoint them.

“I am confident, but it’s not going to be easy. We have to work hard.

“The boys are well psyched for the task ahead and with God and luck on our side, we should leave here with a good result.”

Medeama are Ghana’s only surviving team in Africa’s inter-club competition following the elimination of Ashantigold from the CAF Champions League.

Medeama Won"t Sack Strand

Medeama SC is on the crossroads with head coach Tom Strand, but say they won’t sack him.

The 35-year-old has made his displeasure known public after his coaching responsibilities was taken over by Technical Director, Evans Addotey in their two-all stalemate against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.

He returned to duty for the club’s CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Ittihad of Libya, and the MTN FA Cup game against Liberty Professionals, but has since refused to attend training sessions.

It is alleged he made certain decisions in the MTN FA Cup tie against Liberty Professionals and was criticized. Tom Strand did not take the criticisms in good faith and his close allies says his attitude is to trigger a sack from Medeama.

But Medeama SC insist he will not be sacked. According to sportscrusader.com sources, the club will rather have him sit at home than let him leave.

They have also promised no amount of money will convince them to release Strand to suitors. The club has warned him against resigning from the post.

Clubs sources says that the club do not owe Tom Strand and his attitude is only pushing them to react, but they will not.

Parker Praises Medeama Players

The president of Medeama Sporting Club, Moses Parker Armah is satisfied with the performance of his team despite suffering a 1-0 loss to Al Ittihad in their CAF Confederation Cup first leg in Tunis.

El Bulki first half strike from the spot was enough to give the Libyan side an advantage ahead of the of the second leg at the Essipong Sports Stadium on 20th March.

The Ghanaians displayed a solid performance which was acknowledged by the official Twitter handle of the Al Ittihad. The account tweeted that:

And club president Moses Armah, has hailed the players for their effort.

“Everybody who saw the game will attest to the fact that we didn’t deserve to lose. The boys showed character and zeal and we look forward to the return encounter.

Moses Parker however warned that the result should not breed a room for complacency when they host the second leg of the competition.

“We cannot underestimate them in the return leg. They are a good side and we must be wary.

“But I am confident we can turn things around and qualify to the next stage of the competition.” He said.

Medeama host the reverse fixture at the Esspoing stadium in Sekondi on March 20.

Official: Medeama SC Confirms Coach Nurudeen"s Appointment

Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC has confirmed the appointment of coach Nurudeen Ahmed to their technical team.

Sportscrusader.com on Thursday reported that Nurudeen Ahmed who left Aduana Stars a fortnight ago, will join the technical team of the Mauve and Yellows.

He is expected to assist Tom Strand in their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup first leg second round qualifier against Al Ittihad of Libya on Sunday in Tunis.

Nurudeen Ahmed was part of Medeama’s 32-man contingent that left Ghana on Thursday night to Tunis to honour the game.

Bank roller of the club, Moses Parker told a cross section of the media at the Kotoka International Airport that: “Coach Nurudeen is a new coach we’ve signed and he is part of our technical team.”
