My Team Will Expect More From Me - Evans Mensah

Inter Allies attacking left winger, Evans Mensah says his call up to the senior national team the Black Stars has given him added responsibility at club level.

The former Right to Dreams Academy graduate was invited to the Black Stars for the double header Africa Cup of nations qualifier against Mozambique last week.

Evans Mensah says the experience he acquired was priceless, but his team will expect more from him and he must continue to work hard to satisfy those demands.

“The experience was great but I have to go back and continue working hard. It is through my hard work in the matches that I got the opportunity to be here and I have to continue with what I was already doing,” Evans Mensah told TV3 Network.

He added that “When I go back I have to respect my colleagues and my coaches so that at the end of the day they will have good things to say about me”.

Evans Mensah also believes that the call up to the senior national team will give him added responsibility because his teammates and coaches will expect more from him at club level.

“From now onward, I need to know how to do things and work more harder because my teammates and coaches will be expecting me do more than what I was doing and I must work hard to help myself and my team.” he added.

I Would Have Sacked Grant If... Tamakloe

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe says he would have sacked Avram Grant If he was President of the current body.

The Black Stars trainer has come under flak for his constant stay abroad with claims that he is monitoring players for the national team.

He pops into the country once in a while to announce a squad for assignments, and this Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe says he would have sacked him if he were still the President of the GFA.

“I don’t think Grant is a special person when it comes to training; what he’s doing now can be done by anyone. You go out and bring the boys from their various teams, you form a team and go into a match,” the Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak told GHone Television.

“We want trainers who will live here and train us when we are so deficient in certain areas. We don’t have strikers, we don’t have good defenders, but that’s not what Grant is doing and I will have fired him a long time ago.

“I’m for a coach who would like to stay in this country and work and all the two Serbian Coaches I brought here were all able to qualify us to the World Cup. These are people who are ready to work but Grant is not prepared to work,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said.

He also alleged that the GFA is afraid of the Israeli and he can’t fathom the reason why.

“The FA is afraid of him and I don’t know why and I don’t know what the fear is all about because this is a man you can see clearly, has no interest in the country he is in, his demeanour alone should tell you, why then maintain him?” he quizzed.
