Aduana To Sanction Badu

Aduana Stars has stated that the club wil punish Anokye Badu after the player went AWOL last week.

The former Ghana U-20 joined the 2009-10 Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions on a two-year deal prior to the start of the season, but failed earn a starting berth in the team.

Badu, who featured in the 2015 Africa Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal, has played ony three games after 11 league matches, and he is frustrated at the situation.

According to the Dormaa-based club, Anokye Badu has gone AWOL, though the player denied absconding from camp without the consent of the club.

And Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Albert Commey has issued a statement on his disappearance, adding that he will be punished if he returns.

“Last [week] Friday at the last training he [Anokye Badu] complained to the coach that he was not getting playing time and would wish to be released.

“He has always been in the 18 team list so I told him his claim was not tangible and that he should go back to the coach retract his statement and work hard at breaking into the starting list.

“He did not report for training on Monday, I called his number; he refused to answer neither did he call back. The club decided to report his conduct to the Football Association and as well report in the media of his disappearance,” Mr. Comney said.

Anokye Badu who featured for B.A United on loan last season however availed himself to Aduana following the press statement the club released.

“Interestingly, he has reported after the club released a statement in the media.

“As a club, we won’t condone such behaviour. We will set a date to hear him out and take necessary actions,” Albert Commey stated.

Under-pressure Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars FC, Albert Commey has said his outfit will address all issues that has hit them, giving the assurance that their performance will pick up from their next league game.

The 2009/10 Ghana champions have made their worst ever start to the Ghanaian top-flight league after losing their opening three games of the season.

They are firmly rooted to the foot of the ladder and need to up their game if they are to make good on their promise of winning the title at the end of the season.

And this is what Mr Commey said they have started addressing after holding a crucial management/ player meeting at the end of their most recent defeat.

“Yes we have issues, but we have laid down structures that we have put in place that would ensure that we bounce back in perfect fashion soon,” Mr Aduana CEO said.

The actions have started taking effect with the appointment of Romanian Aristica Coiaba as the new head coach of the club with defender Godfred Saka handed back his captainship.

Coiaba will have his first test upon his reappointment as coach, when he leads the side against high flyers WAFA in a Match-Day Four fixture of the Ghana Premier League at Dormaa on Sunday.

Aduana Stars Players Deny Sabotage Claims

Aduana  Stars midfielder, Godfred Saka has refuted claims the players are at fault for the poor start to the league season and the unfortunate resignation of then coach, Nurudeen Ahmed.

 

The 2010 Ghana premier league champions have lost their opening two games of the 2015/16 season and the recent defeat at home to Wa Allstars last Sunday has been viewed as a failure considering the favourite tag to annex the premier league trophy.

 

Godfred Saka who was stripped off the club’s captaincy for alleged indiscipline has leaped to the defence of his team mates denying they are to blame for sabotaging the ex-coach and the team as a whole.

 

He said, “No one has said anything and from my understanding everything is fine and we (players) can’t be blamed for the coach’s decision to resign. We were on good terms with the coach and we had no problem with him as a person or his training routine either.”

 

“The season has started poorly and not the way we meant it to be but it is just two games into the season and we will put all behind us and work hard as a team and hope for luck to succeed this season,” he added.

Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars FC, Albert Commey has warned the players against complacency during their match tonight against Heart of Oak.

Aduana will open their 2016 G-6 Invitational Tournament account with a game against a ‘troubled’ Hearts of Oak side, but that according to the CEO should not in any way make his charges feel they have already won the game, stressing that they can be shocked if they do.

“I know Hearts of Oak inside out and I know that when things are not going well for them internally, that is the time they spring surprises. Indeed, we are all aware of the recent troubles in the team and the ultimatum given their coach and all that,” Albert Commey told the playing body after Thursday morning’s training session.

“But that will not deter them from playing good football and I know that many have already written them off, but that is the danger here. Give them equal respect and make sure that you go about your business on the field as usual.”

"Dormaa Polo" Will Be Our Secret Weapon"-Aduana Stars

The 2015/16 football season has not yet commenced, but already Clubs have started plotting how to win maximum points against any opponent they might come across on the field of play.

One of such teams is former league champions Aduana Stars, who have in their fold a very young and talented midfielder known among the township as ‘Dormaa Polo’.

The player, 15 years of age was roped into the Aduana Stars team during the offseason from Division One side, Windy Professionals and according to the Club’s CEO Albert Commey Ayittey, has been a menace to even his own colleagues in defence.

“For us we are still in training and waiting to commence the season and so far everything is going on well. We are content with what we have so far as a team and the coaches are working on them”.

“My joy is that we have in our midst a very talented young chap who goes by the name ‘Dormaa Polo’ after the legendary Hearts of Oak and Black Stars player Mohammed Polo.”

“This is a player who can change the game positively anytime he is on the pitch be it starting or from the bench. The first time I heard his name I said to myself I don’t believe he is that good, but after a couple of training sessions and matches I understood the real meaning of that name ‘Polo’,” the confident Albert Commey said.

“His real name is Sampson Boampong Mireku and he was poached at the age of ten and I tell you he is a very good player. He has what we call mechanical speed and he is very fast with the ball.”

He recently returned from injury because his own colleagues thought he was disgracing them too much at training and dealt with him, but that is one of those things”.

“I can say that he will be our secret weapon in the coming season and it is my prayer that he will b able to adapt to the rigorous nature of the Premier League.”

Football fans especially those of Aduana Stars will see the young lad in action for the Dormaa based Club in the G-6 Invitational Tournament which kick starts on Thursday 7th January 2016 at the Essipong stadium.
