Real Madrid’s Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed on Thursday he will play his first La Liga football match of the season against Osasuna on Saturday.

The player responded positively to the question of whether he would play the game this weekend at Santiago Bernabeu stadium, in a ceremony to unveil his new perfume ‘Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy’.

Ronaldo was injured in the final of the 2016 Euros and since then has not been able to start the season with Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken Luis Figo’s record for the most appearances for Portugal following his inclusion in the starting line-up for tonight’s game against Austria.

After today’s game, Portugal will switch their focus to their final group stage fixture against Hungary on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo took part in training on Tuesday in a bid to prove his fitness for Real Madrid’s crunch Champions League semi-final clash with Manchester City.

 

The 31-year-old is currently nursing a slight hamstring tear which has kept him out of his side’s last three matches, including last week’s first leg stalemate at the Etihad.

He underwent stem cell treatment last week in a bid to speed up the recovery process.

Ronaldo is understandably desperate to feature against City, but Portugal’s team doctor has issued him with a warning, telling him he risks putting his participation at Euro 2016 in jeopardy if he plays when not fully fit.

There has been another shocking twist to Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury after the forward indicated his readiness to seek the help from the medical team at Barcelona to help with his recovery.

According to reports, Ronaldo had a scan at Manchester and was still not convinced. So he then visited a local hospital called Ruber when he returned to Madrid without telling his medical team.
