DOL Blues: Man Assaulted For "Planting" Juju

An elderly man was subjected to severe beating when he was allegedly caught by fans of BA United, a Division One side based in thd Brong Ahafo region, attempting to plant some form of magic, known in local parlance as “juju” at the Coronation Park.

The thinking by the fans, was that, had he been successful, the juju would have aided fellow Division One side, Berekum Arsenals’ victory over BA United at the coronation park in a Division One League fixture.

According to sources, BA supporters who were sleeping at the stadium prior to the march, saw the man, a worker at the Coronation Park, popularly known as “Alibey” attempting to plant something on the field.

They subsequently apprehended and subjected him to severe beatings while interrogating him, during which it reportedly came to the fore that Alibey was sent by one Yakubu Moro to execute tgat job.

Sportscrusader enquires;

Does juju play any significant role in Ghana football?

Do the GPL teams also dabble in it?

How different is it from “ways and means”?

Yahaya Mohammed Tips Kotoko To Beat Hearts

Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has tipped Kumasi Asante Kotoko to beat arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in Monday’s league clash between the two.

The two Ghanaian giants will go head-to-head for the first time this season in the last of the

Ghana Premier League Match-Day 10 encounters at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

And Mohammed, who once played for the Porcupines, has backed his former employers to carry the day with some effort.

“As a former player of Kotoko, I will have to back them to collect the points at stake,” he said, adding that it will not be an easy game though as Hearts has shown form this season.

“Games of such nature can make and unmake a player, and, I will urge the Kotoko players to keep calm, be focused and be up to the task on the day,” he added.

Mohammed was in inspired form on Sunday as he helped current club Aduana Stars post their first away win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Liberty Professionals at Dansoman with the striker getting one of the goals for his side.
