Coach Keni Finally Lands In Japan

Former Accra Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has finally arrived in his native japan after parting ways with Ghana’s Premier Club.

Yatsuhashi arrived in Tokyo on Tuesday after leaving the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Monday.

Coach Keni tweeted by saying; “Safely landed in Tokyo as of last night. I am glad to see my wife who I have not seen while I was coaching in Ghana. I hope everyone is doing well?

The Japanese-American parted ways mutually with the Phobians a couple of week ago after guiding them to finish fourth at the end of the first round of this season’s Ghana Premier League (GPL).

They finished the first round with 26 points from 15 games, just two points behind the leaders a All Stars.

Under Coach Keni’s mandate, Hearts finished the first round of the GPL as the only undefeated side away from home, winning four and drawing four of the eight games they played away from the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.

It is understood Coach Keni will undertake an upgrading course while he is away, and, he has said he wants to work in Ghana again after he completes his programme.

Kenichi Worried About Hearts Inconsistent Form

Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Kenichi Yatsuashi has expressed worry over his sides inconsistent league form.

Hearts have been the best performing away team in the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season with no defeat to their name  – four wins and three draws. But it is the home form that has got the spiky-haired Japanese-American tactician worried.

And in his post match interview after Hearts ended the first round of the league with a 1-1 result against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu.

“we want to go back to the top as we tried our best to win the game (against Dreams FC) but we couldn’t as our opponents played very well and shared the same objective with us (win the game).”

“I am not worried about slipping from the top spot but my only worry is how we can sustain our best performance. Our first half showing was poor but we improved in the second half and that is my worry (why we can’t perform well throughout the whole game),” he added.

The league will resume after three weeks to commence the final part of what has been an interesting round of matches.

Accra Hearts of Oak made a huge statement going into ‘Ghana’s EL Clasico’ against fiercest rival, Kumasi Asante Kotoko with a 2-1 away win over defending Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions Obuasi Ashantigold.

A Cosmos Dauda’s brace in the 54th and 60th minute gave the Phobians all the three points to get back on track the dream and desire to record a first league title since 2008.

Hearts piled the pressure from the blast of the referee’s whistle to make clear their intentions of picking up maximum.

The Phobians mounted more pressure on Ashgold and were rewarded with the first goal in the game as Dauda’s right footed a shot from inside the box to the bottom left corner of Fatau Dauda’s net.

The former Tudu Mighty Jet striker, Dauda was at it again with a header this time inside the box as he found the right corner of the net.

Ashgold fans agitated immediately as the team tried to restore their image but to Hearts defender, Akrofi was forced to clear his lines for a throw-in.

From thence it was all about the hosts pushing Hearts into doing more defending.

The miner’s were finally rewarded with what appeared to be just a consolation goal as Awudu Nafiu beat Soulama Abdoulai in goal for Hearts in the 74th minute.

The win ensured Hearts broke their nine-year winless jinx at the venue.

Accra Hearts of Oak were held at home to a 1-1 draw by West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in a Match-Day Eight encounter of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) in Accra.

The game was marred at the later part by a drama – as WAFA wasted time by faking injuries that got Samuel Tetteh sent off for fighting a member of the match day medical team.

Teams have found an antidote to a Hearts team that tends to play through the middle.

Sportscrusader.com reliable source, has revealed Accra Hearts of Oak, is set to axe their Japanese-American coach, Kenichi Yatsuashi from his post.

According to the source the board headed by club owner and highest shareholder, Togbe Afede XIV has had it to the neck, especially with his recent Facebook ranting and criticism of the hierarchy over unpaid salaries owed him and his two assistants – Yaw Preko and Nassam Yakubu as well as the players who are owed winning bonuses.

The source said “the board and the strategic committee were billed to meet the Japanese today (Monday) at the club’s secretariat over his Facebook post, that revealed conflicting statement from the board in relation to his salary.”

According to our source, the Club heads will be meeting this afternoon at 12:30 to take a firm decision on the future of the coach after what they said was “a very bad thing to go on social media to state all that he did, painting a bad picture for the Club”.

The scheduled meeting though has been called off, the major topic for discussion – Kenichi’s post as head coach remains the topic for discussion but the source can confirm after the meeting the Japanese will no longer remain coach of the Phobians.

The Japanese-American who has led Hearts to an impressive start to the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season is reported to have fainted in his hotel room around Kokomlemle.

Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatshuashi has cooled down talks of his team being tagged as favourite to win the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season after a perfect start to the season.

 

The Phobians have started the season on a high note after two wins on the trot and this has seen they made outside favourite to win the club’s Japanese-American gaffer does not agree.

 

Coach Keni as affectionately referred to acknowledged his sides flying start does not surprise him but the pundits claiming his side should win the 2015/16 league season is far too fetched.

 

“I don’t consider Accra Hearts of Oak as favourites to win the league title this season. I am more focused on the next game coming up and will take it game after game but besides this I can’t think beyond,” he told sportscrusader.com.

The Accra sports stadium was almost filled to capacity with spectators but the number of Japanese that were present and in the colours of the Phobians caught the attention of the media and all who was present.

Accra Sports Stadium Pitch Is Bad - Kenichi

Accra Hearts of Oak Japanese-American tactician, Kenichi Yatshuashi has admitted the poor nature of the playing surface at the Accra sports stadium negatively affected his sides of play in their opening game of the season.

 

Hearts played one of their finest football in recent years in-front of an almost full house when they hosted New Edubiase, a side that has won the last two games played at the Accra stadium.

 

Kenichi, whose appointment was initially met with mixed feelings led his side out for their first competitive game and was  a dream debut thanks to a solitary goal from substitute striker, Sam Yeboah but the Japanese coach felt the play would have been much better had the playing surface been in better shape.

 

In an interview with sportscrusader.com he said, “I walked onto the pitch to inspect on the quality of the pitch. My focus was solely on how good or bad but I concede the pitch was bad and this influenced our style of play and hope the playing surface is made a lot better.”

No Need : We"ll Replace Ankrah But Not In A Haste - Board Member

Hearts Won’t Rush In Replacing Ankrah

Accra Hearts of Oak is still in shock if board member, Frank Nelson’s comment claiming the board (hearts) were surprised is anything to go by but the club won’t rush into making a decision on who replaces him.

 

 

Gerald Ankrah submitted officially his resignation to the board of which he’s a member on Wednesday to announce his decision to step down with immediate effect. No names have been bundled around yet but reliable

information reaching sportscrusader.com states head of the strategic committee, Vincent Sowah Odotei will replace Gerald Ankrah temporarily.

 

 

Frank Nelson Nwokolo a member of the current Hearts board and also a member on the strategic committee spoke to Kumasi based Boss fm 93.7 and when quizzed on who replaces Gerald after the board met said, “When we get to the bridge we will cross.”

 

He added, “As a limited liability company a vacuum cant be left in the club and as such sooner than later an appointment will be made but until then the strategic committee will manage and handle all administrative issues.”

 

Ankrah a true and die-hard fan of the club before his resignation was the managing director and secretary to the strategic committee .
