We Don’t Compare Apples To Onions But GHALCA Should Be Serious
Tough speaking and controversial football administrator, Takyi Arhin has finally broken his silence on the just ended GHALCA First Trust G6.
The competition was organised for the first time to replace the famous GHALCA top 4. The league clubs body – GHALCA brought together six teams to compete with the aim of keeping the teams in shape for the upcoming 2015/16 season but the competition didn’t end without controversies.
The tournament’s highlight was when the floodlight went off at the Essipong stadium when Hearts of Oak were battling Aduana Stars in the second game of match day 1. In an interview with footballcrusader.com, Mr. Amui head of the National Sports Authority in the Western region said, “GHALCA met us (NSA) three days to the tournament and if you prepare poorly to such a competition you don’t come out and blame another body for your failure.
Mr. Takyi Arhin who is not afraid to speak his mind and never afraid to strip the truth naked spoke to Kumasi based radio, Boss Fm 93.7, stating “GHALCA organised the G6 tourney poorly. According to the NSA chairman in western region, GHALCA did not even show up until three days before the tournament and that is not how to prepare for a competition so they (GHALCA) are to be blamed for the floodlight failure and no one else.”
He added, “GHALCA have lost focus and don’t know which event to organise, today it is top 4, top 6 and next time top 8. So when are we going to be serious? We need to restructure GHALCA or very soon the league club body will go into oblivion.”
