AYC Qualifier: Ghana Black Statellites Leave Today For Ethiopia

Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites will leave today for their Africa Youth Championship qualifier against Ethiopia.

Coach Mas-Ud-Didi Dramini and his charges are expected to depart the country tonight for the first leg tie at the Addis Ababa Stadium on Sunday.

A contingent made up of players and officials will depart to the East African country in their bid to qualify for next year’s Championships in Zambia.

Ghana are chasing their fifth successive appearance at the youth tournament having finished third in the last edition of the competition hosted by Senegal.

A good result in Addis Ababa will make the return leg in Ghana a mere formality.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic To Leave Paris St-Germain

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave Paris St-Germain at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old Sweden striker’s contract with the French champions expires in the summer, and he has been linked with Manchester United, Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan.

“I am very proud,” he said. “I came like a king, I leave like a legend but I will be back.”

PSG said Ibrahimovic leaves as “the greatest striker and one of the very best players in the club’s history”.

Ibrahimovic is the club’s record goalscorer despite only joining the club in 2012, his 152 goals coming in 178 appearances.

PSG have won Ligue 1 in every season Ibrahimovic has been at the club, wrapping up the title this season with two months to spare.

“I loved every day I spent here,” said Ibrahimovic, who has won league titles with six different clubs. “Paris St-Germain has become a star club in the world and I played a key role moving it forward. It is now the right time for me to take a different path.”

PSG host Nantes in Ligue 1 on Saturday before meeting Marseille in the French Cup final on 21 May.

An agreement is in place for Ibrahimovic to return to the club at the end of his playing career, with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi saying he is “looking forward to the prospect of working with him again”.

Ibrahimovic finished as top scorer in France in 2012-13 and 2013-14, and leads Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette by 15 goals this season.

He has also been included in the Ligue 1 team of the year in all of his four seasons in France.

Yaya Toure To Leave Manchester City - Agent

Yaya Toure will leave Manchester City this summer, according to his agent, and has “various offers” on the table.

Dimitri Seluk claims the midfielder will assess his options at the end of the season as he ponders his future with just one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad.

The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international joined City from Barcelona for £24m in July 2010 – where he was sold by incoming City manager Pep Guardiola – but now looks set for a fresh chapter in his career.

“We have waited too long,” Seluk said. “Manchester City promised a deal but nothing has materialised so Yaya will leave in June.

“Yaya is disappointed of course. But he is a professional and he remains under contract so he will continue to do his best for City.”

One option for Toure is Inter Milan, who are coached by former City boss Roberto Mancini, and Seluk said in an interview with FC Inter News that wages will not be the deciding factor in where he moves.“Various offers have arrived for Yaya and we’re evaluating them, but no decision has been taken yet for next season,” Seluk said.

“Will the economic aspect make the difference? Absolutely not. We don’t put money before everything, but the project the club presents us. The best will convince us.

“Inter? We’re definitely talking about a great club and everyone knows about the relationship between Yaya and Mancini, but like I’ve already said, we haven’t made any decision yet.

“But I’ll add that the Nerazzurri’s project is great and Inter is a fantastic club. So it’s normal that they want a player of this level.”
