Fosu-Mensah Is Going Nowhere -Agent Confirms

Manchester United star Timothy Fosu-Mensah is going nowhere – according to his agent – amid reports Jose Mourinho wants to get rid of the youngster.

The 18-year-old, who can operate in both defence and midfield, made ten appearances during his breakthrough season for the Red Devils in the 2016/17 campaign.

However, doubts were raised over Fosu-Mensah’s Old Trafford future following speculation new manager Mourinho was ready to axe him – but these have now been put to bed.

‘All those rumors in media are from nowhere,’ Jonathan Barnet told Voetbal International.

‘Timothy Fosu-Mensah stays at Manchester United.’

The Netherlands Under-19 international is already a fan favourite after just one term with United and many supporters are predicting the youngster has a major role to play under Mourinho this season.

Manchester United held their latest training session at Carrington today, with several star players in attendance including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joined in with the squad for the first time.

There were, however, also some notable absentees. Here’s a rundown of the players who weren’t present today.

1.Bastian Schweinsteiger– The experienced midfielder is still on holiday following his involvement with Germany at Euro 2016,but it reported that he is not wanted by Mourinho for the upcoming season

2.Timothy Fosu-Mensah– The youngster was hugely impressive last season as he made the breakthrough into the first-team.

3.Paddy McNair– The young defender has been linked with a loan move to Celtic, which could explain his absence today.

4.Will Keane– The forward, at the age of 23, is at the stage of his career where he needs to be playing regularly, and it appear that he is attempting to finalise a move elsewhere.

5.Andreas Pereira– The talented young midfielder has been informed by Mourinho that he can leave on loan in order to further his development.

6.Adnan Januzaj– The winger is another player who appears likely to leave United on a temporary basis during this transfer window, and he will be hopeful of faring rather better than he did during a challenging spell with Borussia Dortmund last season.

7.Axel Tuanzebe– A young defender who has impressed for United during pre-season, Tuanzebe wasn’t involved with the first-team today and it appears that he may have been training with the U23s instead.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to complete a medical and move to Manchester United after Euro 2016.

Sky Sports broke the news earlier today that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to undergo a medical at Manchester United

 

The deal has been reported to have already been negotiated, but PSG and Manchester United took longer then expected which is why the move wasn’t completed before the European Championships kicked off in France on Friday.

Shaw To Make Injury Return

Luke Shaw has handed Manchester United a significant boost as they prepare for their clash with Leicester City on Sunday by revealing that he could make his return from injury before the end of the season.

The full-back has been sidelined since September after suffering a double fracture of his leg during the Champions League defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven.

Shaw has been working hard on his fitness levels in recent weeks and has recently begun training outdoors with a physiotherapist at United’s Carrington training ground.

The England defender has not given up all hope of featuring before the end of the season and has revealed that he is fighting hard to make his first appearance of 2016 before the campaign is over.

Speaking to United’s website, Shaw said: “I am back outside now, still with the physio but, day by day, I am getting better and fitter.

“I am just going to keep pushing now until the end of the season and see what happens.

“At the moment, my leg feels really great every time I go outside. There was a bit of aching at the start but now they are all gone.

“It is just back to hard work now and hopefully I will see the fans before the end of the season.”

Manchester United make bid for £19m Brazilian striker

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made a bid for Palmeiras’ striker Gabriel Jesus Gabriel, who starred for Brazil at last year’s Under-20 World Cup, scored 37 goals in 22 matches for Palmeiras’ youth team last term.

And according to Brazilian newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo, United have made a bid to snap up the youngster.

The 19-year-old has a release clause of £23.5million, but the Red Devils are one of five clubs who get a discount on the forward due to another clause in his contract.

United, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich can all apparently sign the teenager for £19m.

Gabriel, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, is expected to play for Brazil in the Olympics, and his agent, Cristiano Simoes, wants to wait and negotiate any deal for the striker after the tournament to get a bigger transfer fee.

He said: “Until then [the Olympics], it’s certain that he will stay. After that, we believe there will come good and concrete bids.

“Gabriel is calm and isn’t interested in these subjects, but he knows that many people want to take him and he’s now the main player who Palmeiras can make profit with.”

Van Gaal Reveals A Player He is Really Missing

Louis van Gaal has singled out Luke Shaw as Manchester United’s biggest loss during their injury-hit Premier League season.

 

Furthermore, the Dutchman also added that he’s more attack-minded than current left-back Marcos Rojo.

United have suffered greatly at the hands of injury all over the pitch this season, but most notably in defence, with the Dutchman being forced to pick a number of makeshift combinations at the back.

However, Van Gaal has singled out the absence of England left-back Shaw as particularly crucial, due to his replacement’s inability to provide the same attacking threat.

Van Gaal is quoted by the Manchester Evening News as saying: “When everybody was fit, I tell it again, I have said it before. We were first in the league at that time. Then when we had 14 injuries, or the double injuries on the full back positions, I could not solve that problem.

“Schweinsteiger and Shaw are the only ones who are injured now. Schweinsteiger, I have three midfielders in that position with Schweinsteiger, Carrick and Schneiderlin.

“Shaw, it’s still a problem, is more attacking as a full back than Marcos Rojo,” he concluded.
