Medeama SC midfielder, Malik Akowuah has praised his side’s determination in their 2-2 stalemate with Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports stadium last Sunday.
The Tarkwa-based side had to twice come from behind to earn a deserving draw against the former league champions in their Ghana Premier League Week Three encounter.
Kotoko struck the first goal through Bennet Ofori before captain Malik Akowuah leveled the scores for his team with a stunning free kick before the break. The Porcupine Warriors restored parity courtesy Michael Yeboah but they were pegged back again through Bismark Oppong’s superbly taken strike.
And Akowuah says their determination paid off in their clash against the dethroned league champions.
“We lost our home match against Hearts of Oak and we were determined to win against Kotoko or to get a point in the game and we are happy for it,” he said after the game.
The Mauves and Yellow are scheduled to take on Ebusua Dwarfs in on Sunday March 13 but the game has been postponed due to their involvement in continental assignment over the weekend.
