Ghana international says the season for his former club; Asante Kotoko starts on Sunday and has urged football fans to be on the lookout for this.
Asante Kotoko lost their opening game of this season’s Ghana Premier League (GPL) competition 0-2 to WAFA at Sogakope, and will play their second game against Medeama SC on Sunday.
Agyemang Badu told Kumasi based radio station, Angel FM on Friday that, the season for his former club really starts on Sunday and urged fans to be at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in their numbers to cheer the team to victory.
“I know they have forgotten about that setback at Sogakope behind them and I am hopeful that the boys will rise up to the challenge and record our first win of the competition,” Badu said from his Italy base.
Kotoko he added is a big club that will not allow such disappointments affect them in the interim, and, urged the players to go all out in Sunday’s game with Medeama SC and in subsequent matches to win and make the fans happy.
“Medeama will come as wounded lions I know, after they lost their opening two games but, I trust in the spirit of Kotoko to rise to the occasion and win us the game,” he assured.
“I am hopeful that at the end of the campaign, Kotoko will win the championship and reclaim the title we lost to AshGold last season,” the Udinese of Italy captain said.
