The President of the South African Football Association Danny Jordan has pointed fingers at the Confederation of African Football for the failure of Tokyo Sexwale’s quest for the FIFA Presidency that took place last Friday in Zurich.
Tokyo Sexwale’s bid to become FIFA president was doomed as soon as his own confederation refused to back him,as CAF handed their endorsement to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president at an executive meeting in Rwanda last month.
“I was at the CAF meeting in Rwanda where Tokyo was present,” Jordaan told South Africa’s Eye Witness News.
Jordaan added that CAF had a meeting with Sexwale where they put forward to him as to why they found it difficult to support him.
“When we left Kigali, it was clear that CAF was not going to support him”, he concluded.
