Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Vincent Oppong Asamoah has expressed delight at the standard of play and level of patronage of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Despite the delay in the start of the league, the 2015/2016 season of the Ghanaian top flight league has been very exciting with high turnouts recorded at the various centers compared to previous seasons.
After five round of games, the league has received lots of positive remarks from various quarters and Mr. Asamoah, who is a stern follower of the league, hopes the organizers can build on those positives to make this season’s league a memorable one.
“I think we are seeing the best spectating so far in the league and that is impressive. The fans have been so splendid and I must say I am impressed,” he told Joy FM in Accra, adding that,“The quality of play has been fantastic and officiating too has not been bad at all.”
The Deputy Sports Minister also urged local television stations to complement the effort of broadcast partners Super Sports to broadcast more live games.
“We need more of the games on TV and aside Supersports, if the other local stations can show matches I think it will also go a long way to promote and make it very good.”, he stated.
