Don"t Inflame Kwarasey - Nasamu Issue - Arhinful Tell Media

Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has called on the media not to inflame passions following the return of Adam Larson Kwarasey to the national team and his alleged misunderstanding with goalkeepers trainer Nasamu Yakubu.

Adam Larson Kwarasey went on temporal sabbatical from national assignment since the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, after expressing dissatisfaction over certain decisions during the tournament.

The Portland Timbers goalkeeper was included in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming double Afcon 2017 qualifier against Mozambique and media has revisited the episode in the North America country.

But Augustine Arhinful wants the issue to be buried.

“If he has forgiven or moved on with whatever happened between the goalkeeper’s coach and himself, why do we still talk about it? Let’s not try to inflame this issue again.

“At the end of the day, he decided to come back. He gave his reasons as to why he was not coming and now, he is coming so obviously, I believe he has forgotten about it,” Ahinful told Kumasi-based radio station, LUV FM.

Mr. Nasamu, the national team goalkeeper’s trainer, has never lost the opportunity to tell Ghanaians that he has no problems with Adam Kwarasey.

Augustine Arhinful believes Kwarasey bear no grudges with Nasamu too.

“I am very much sure he has not put it at the back of his mind that he has an issue with the goalkeeper’s coach. It is Avram Grant who is in charge. If he decides that Kwarasey will play, fine.

“If he decides Razak Braimah or [Richard] Ofori will play, it is the coach who decides and not the goalkeepers’ coach,” he said.
