Embrace Divergent Views - Takyi Arhin Tells GFA

The Chief Executive Officer of Berlin FC, Mr. Takyi Arhin has called on the Ghana Football Association to embrace divergent views to smoothly run the affairs of Ghana football.

Several football administrators, notably Western regional FA chairman Kojo Yankah, rose to the defence of the football governing body describing Sports Minister, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije as a ‘loose talker’ after he said his knowledge in football administration is better than some members of the FA.

And the former Chairman of Sunyani-based B.A United, popularly known as ‘Thunder’ in the football fraternity, has called on the FA accept others views.

He believes in the mantra of ‘disagreeing to agree’

“Why is it that the football people are attacking the sports minister left, right and centre? I think we should allow divergent views as we disagree to agree,” Takyi Arhin wrote in a WhatsApp message to sportscrusader.com

“The democratic dispensation we have chosen as a country allows this. We must have (the) stomach to swallow criticisms, decipher the good from bad and forge ahead.

“Some of the football people are found of hurriedly attacking without recourse to analysis just to portray to the FA president that they love him so much than everybody. A classical example is the attack on UK ambassador Benjamin.

“Just two days ago (British) Ambassador (to Ghana, Jon) Benjamin paid a familiation tour to the FA secretariat.

“Do you know the kind of benefits that the FA will accrue from this.?” He quizzed.

He advised that: “We should stop putting the President and the FA in a very bad light. The attack on personalities who criticise the FA is giving us bad publicity.

“Let’s analyse issues critically before coming out with defence.

“More so, we should speak with one voice on a particular issue. This can be done where the communication officer is giving direction. Shalom!” He said.
