Striker Eric Kumi is set to return to the Accra Hearts of Oak set-up for their Ghana Premier League (GPL) game against Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Kumi has finished serving the mandatory one-match suspension imposed on him following his sending off against Medeama SC at Tarkwa in their Match-Day-Two encounter.
In that fixture, the Phobians won 2-0 at the T&A Park with Kumi scoring the second for Hearts in the last minute of the game to help the capital club record a first ever win over the Yellow and Mauves at Tarkwa.
Kumi celebrated that goal by taking off his shirt in the heat of the moment and attracted a yellow card which was his second of the game hence the sending off.
He was not available for their last league encounter with Ebusua Dwarfs at Cape Coast last Sunday, a game that ended goalless as the Phobians maintained their unbeaten start to the season with the result.
He has been in training with the club all week in preparation for their next GPL game on Sunday, and is ready to play a role on Sunday if he is included in Coach Keni’s plans.
“I am happy to be available for selection again and I thank my colleagues for being there for me and standing up to the test when Hearts of Oak needed them most,” Kumi told the club’s official newspaper, the Hearts News.
He added: “If I am selected to play on Sunday, I hope to give off my best for the club as always and play a part that would ensure that we win the game against Bechem United on Sunday”.
“The competition for places in the first team is very intensive and every player is willing to give off his best for the club in the hope of being selected to play a part in the anticipated success,” Kumi stressed.
