Isaac Koomson Promises To Bring GHALCA To Clubs

Vice chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Isaac Wilberforce Koomson has promised to bring the Association to the doors of the league clubs and vice versa.

GHALCA as the Association is affectionately called, is the mother body of all league clubs in Ghana.

But Isaac Koomson believes the Association and clubs are far apart.

And as GHALCA prepares to go to the polls on April 21, Isaac Koomson, threw his cap into the race for the top-most position in the Association – Chairman.

He wants to bridge the gap between club administrators and executives of the Association.

“I want to bring the Association (GHALCA) closer to the clubs and the clubs to the Association. There have been many situations when GHALCA is holding the  Top-4 tournament, President Cup’s etc when club administrators are not even aware of.

“When you get to know all these, it becomes very clear that members are far apart from the executive council and that’s one thing I want to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

“So I want to bring the clubs together to work in tandem with me so that whatever I’m doing, the members will understand what is going on and they can be part and parcel of Association,” Mr. Koomson told sportscrusader.com after filing his nomination for the chairmanship position.

When quizzed why he hasn’t been able to bring the clubs to the Association in his four years as vice chairman, Mr. Koomson said:

“When you’re the vice chairman of an association, your role is always not defined. Even the Vice President of Ghana (Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur’s) role is not defined. All you’re told is that, you act in the absence of the President or Chairman and so do my position,” He said.
