Kwarasey"s Return Is Normal - Kofi Poku

The Vice chairman of the MTN FA Cup Conmittee, Kofi Poku has mentioned that the return of keeper Adam Larsen Kwaresey isn’t overly special but a normal national team call up served to any other player.

Kwarasey has been absent from national duties for two years after the World Cup 2014 in Brazil citing favouritism and nepotism against him from National goal keeper’s coach, Nassam as reasons for staying away.

Impressive form with Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Portland Timbers FC has seen the former Norwegian youth goal keeper named by coach Avram Grant in his 23-man squad to face Mozambique in AFCON 2017 qualifier and this news headlined newspapers, online media, radio and television but Poku believes Kwarasey’s call up isn’t too special as heralded by many.

He said, “Kwarasey’s call up is normal because he’s a Ghanaian and when he’s called upon to represent his nation I see nothing special with it though he’s been away for two years now.”

“His return to national duties though is good for us (Ghana),” he added.
