Bechem United put up in improved performance on Sunday afternoon to beat New Edubiase United 1-0 thanks to Aminu Mohammed’s second half goal.
New Edubaise came into the game on the back of a 1-0 home victory over Ebusua Dwarfs at th Len Clay stadium and were hoping to improve upon this performance.
Bechem United, on the other hand, lost by a lone goal in match week 2 to Dreams FC at the Dawu Park.
The game was keenly contested and both Clubs were resolute in defense and action that saw their strikers finding it very difficult to score any goals.
After a barren first half, the home fans at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park were given something to cheer about when Bechem United’s Aminu Mohammed’s shot from distance deflected to beat goalie Benjamin Mensah in post for New Edubiase United in the 69th minute.
Both teams tried to change the scoreline later on in the game but in the end Aminu’s goal turned out to be match winner for Bechem United.
Bechem United will travel to Accra to face high-flying Hearts of Oak at the Accra sports stadium, whilst New Edubiase will welcome Inter Allies to the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi.
