Wa All Stars custodian Richard Ofori has revealed his disappointment after finally losing his clean away record to Dreams FC on Saturday.
The 22 year old lanky goalie held the record of three matches without picking a ball out of his net but failed to extend that beyond 16 minutes at the Dawu Park in a 1-1 thriller.
The disappointed goalie expressed his dissatisfaction after he was beaten in the near post by an Emmanuel Lomotey’s thunderbolt after exactly 286 minutes without conceding a goal.
Richard Ofori however pledged to extend the home clean sheet to as many matches as possible after surrendering the away shut out at the dreaded Theatre of Dreams.
The Wa All Strars safest pair of hands capped an impressive 2014/15 FCPPL season for his side with the league’s best goal keeper at the annual PLB awards night late last year.
The acrobatic goalie then hinted at defending his personal accolade with another imperious start to the season to inspire Wa All Stars to the top of the table after match day four.
“It was very disappointing to have finally lost my clean sheet record at the fourth time of asking. It is really painful because it is something I had planned extending beyond match day four.
“After finally conceding a goal, we are now set to extend our unbeaten run to the season and to have more clean sheets at home.
“Our target is now set on extending that home clean sheet whiles we add some more shut outs away from home”, Ofori told sports crusader.” He stated.
Wa All Stars maintains their place at the top of the log after snatching a well deserved point at Dawu thanks to Mumuni Wahidu’s stunning free kick but could slip to second if Hearts Of oak get the better of Bechem United later on Sunday at Accra.
