Former Accra Hearts of Oak creative midfielder, Bernard ‘Dong’ Bortey has labelled the club’s enterprising new recruit, Samudeen’s impressive explosion to life in the Ghana premier league is similar to his time with the club.
The young midfielder was adjudged the most valuable player (MVP) of the 2014/15 GN Bank division one season and his display in Hearts’ one nil victory over New Edubiase has got the football fraternity sing his praise in astonishment to what they anticipated.
But Hearts legend Bortey who was nicknamed ‘Serial Killer’ due to his torturing of defenders has admitted he is not as he knew what the creative midfielder s made of before he entered the limelight.
Speaking to Kumasi based Boss FM, Bortey said, “If the club will treat Samudeen well and in high esteem as they did to me when I was with the club then the young midfielder will excel and become a prized-asset to the club.”
“I know Samudeen personally and he is my son though not by birth but what he is exhibiting is just the beginning greater things to come,” he added.
Samudeen Ibrahim missed Hearts game against Medeama SC and is expected to return when they face Dwarfs in match week 3 at the Robert Mensah stadium on Sunday.
