If A Life Lost Will Retain Techiman City In The League Then ...

The Ethics committee of the Ghana football association demoted Techiman City FC and Wa African United to division two (2) after been found guilty of bribery and match fixing after investigations into their Match day 22 game played at the Damongo Park.

Wa African United alleged they were given GH¢2,000.00 (Two Thousand Ghana Cedis) by Techiman City FC as well as other payments for feeding to play a match of convenience but officials of Techiman City led by club President, Charles Kwadwo Kumi alias ‘Micky Charles’ has vehemently denied the alleggation and has threatened to fight the ruling.

The people of Techiman have been aggrieved and been very vocal expressing their displeasure at the verdict from the FA’s Ethics committee and the latest to add his voice is the Akyeamehene of the Techiman Traditional Area Nana Owusu Antwi Bosiako II.

Nana believes Techiman City’s demotion to division two is political motivated as there are some people with ‘power’ that influenced the Ethics committee ruling and has vowed to fight tooth-and-nail to reinstate the club believing a form of employment and development has been snatched of the feet of his people.

“I promise if we (people of Techiman) have to sacrifice a life to see our club play in the premier league then so be it. As people in authority we can’t sit idle and watch a club based in Techiman be treated unfairly, we won’t allow such a rude treatment.”
