A first half strike by former Ghana youth international, Saddick Adams was enough to handed Chelsea all three points as they defeated a determined WAFA side 1-0 at the Golden City Park, Berekum on Sunday.
Chelsea went into this game on the back of their opening day defeat in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to debutants Techiman City last Sunday, and showed early promise of wanting the three points.
WAFA had showed impressive form in beating Asante Kotoko at home in Sogakope, but, found the home side difficult to break down despite playing some delightful football on the day.
The win will put Chelsea in a positive situation ahead of their next league game against defending champions AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi on Sunday.
WAFA will have to regroup from this defeat before they face Sekondi Hasaacas in their next fixture at their Sogakope base.
