Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris has been omitted from Lorient’s squad called for the French Cup clash against Sarre-Union on Wednesday after show act of insolence towards his manager at the weekend.
The ex-Right to dream academy forward played only 45-minutes for his French side in the 1-1 draw against Montpellier on Saturday in Ligue 1 action before he was replaced by Walid Mesloub following the send off of defender, Francois Bellogou.
The forward expressed his displeasure with manager, Sylvain Ripoll’s decision to substitute him after being reduced to ten men as he walked off straight into the dressing room.
He was criticised by his manager after the match, with Ripoll admitting his dissatisfaction at the forward’s behaviour.
“It was the kind of behaviour that I don’t like to see,” Ripoll said after the match, as per Ouest France,” and that I want to battle because I don’t like it.”
Ripoll has dropped Waris from the team that will tavel to Alsace for the French Cup Round-of-16 match against CFA side Sarre-Union on Wednesday evening.
