Assistant coach of Okyeman Planners FC, Emmanuel K. Omane has stressed that his side is determined to make an impact in
the Division One League (DOL) and should not be taken for granted.
The competition in the second tier league, kicks off this weekend with matches across the three zones nationwide when
clubs begin the process to qualification to the elite division of Ghana football.
Okyeman Planners FC will open their account with an away game against former premier division campaigners, Amidaus
Professionals at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday.
And Coach Omane has told Sportscrusader.com that his side is ready for the big take off and believes they are in to cause
a few surprises in this campaign.
“We follow a plan as laid down by the top heirarchy of the club, and, the main objective this year is to survive the
league at the first attempt,” he said, adding that “we have prepared very well for this competition”.
On playing Saturday’s opponents, Amidaus Professionals, he said: “We are not fancied by big name clubs as we also have in
our midst players who have tasted the top-flight league before”.
He therefore expects them to be ready for this game, backed by the good pre-season campaign they have had. “We played
against some some of the elite division clubs in our preparations and this should spur us on for face the challenge big
time”.
