I Need You On Board - Fianoo To Ghalca ExCo

The incoming Ghana League Clubs Association Chairman (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has called on those who contested him for the position, to come on board to help run to the Association.

According to Sportscrusader.com sources, Mr Fianoo believes either of his opponents had the ability to steer the affairs of the Association, and he has contacted them to come on board with their ideas.

Mr Fianoo is yet to be sworn into office after the transition team were unable to successfully put arrangements in place for the handing over last week.

However, internal handing over took place and he has started working as the chairman of the Association.

Kudjoe Fianoo contested for the GHALCA chairmanship seat alongside Kofi Poku, Isaac Koomson and Nana Oduro Sarfo.

He won the elections with 50 votes more than his colleagues who had 13 votes each.

GHALCA Elections Tomorrow

All is set for the 2016 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) elections at the Accra Sports Stadium media centre tomorrow (Thursday).

Delegates of the various league clubs in the country are expected in Accra tonight to exercise their franchise on elections day.

Four candidates, Kudjoe Fianoo, Chief Executive officer of AshantiGold Sporting Club, Nana Oduro Sarfo, former CEO of Berekum Chelsea, Kofi Poku, vice chairman of MTN FA Cup Committee and Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, incumbent vice chairman of GHALCA are vying for the chairmanship seat.

Alex Akumey vice president of New Edubiase and George Amoako, will contest for the vice chairmanship and treasurer seats unopposed.

George Offosuhene of WAFA and John Ansah of Ebusua Dwarfs will wrestle for the mantle to represent Premier League Clubs in the Association, while Otuo-Acheampong and Samuel Aboabre will go unopposed for Division One and Two repS respectively.

The elections is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.

Statement From GHALCA On Thursday"s Elections

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), have announced that the 2016 elections will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, 21 April.

Sportscrusader.com last week reported that the elections is in limbo, but the Elections Committee, led by Major Yaw Larson (Rtd), gave the green light for the Association to go ahead with the elections.

Statement From GHALCA On Thursday"s Elections

GHALCA Elections Venue Confirmed

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), will hold its general elections at the Accra Sports Stadium Media Center, sportscrusader.com can exclusively confirm.

One hundred and ten (110) delegates will convene at the Media Center on Thursday, 21 April to elect new executives to run the affairs of the Association.

The Elections Committee of GHALCA is maintaining the Media Center at the Accra Sports Stadium, where they had the delegates congress in February this year for the elections.

Four candidates, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, Nana Oduro Sarfo, Kofi Poku and Kudjoe Fianoo are gunning for the chairmanship position, whilst the vice chairman position will be contested unopposed by Alex Ackumey, vice president of New Edubiase United FC.

The vice chairman of the Premier League Board, George Amoako is running unopposed for the treasurer position, Samuel Aboabre and Otuo Acheampong will also go unopposed for the Division Two and One representative respectively.

George Offosuhene of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) and John Ansah of Ebusua Dwarfs will compete for the Premier League representative post in the Association.

Winners of the various positions in the Association will be sworn into office on 28 April.
