Black Satellites Miss Out on 2017 African Youth Championship

The Black Satellites of Ghana missed out on qualification to the 2017 Africa Youth Championship in Zambia despite winning 1-0 against Senegal on Friday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Charles Boateng’s lone goal against Senegal on Friday was not enough to seal qualification for Ghana as they exit on a 3-2 aggregate.


 


In a post match interview with the press Ghana’s Coach,Ghana sports, Ghana football news,Black  satellite news, Ghana black  satellite news, Ghana Black  satellite latest news, Ghana football Association news, Ghana vs Senegal news, Ghana vs Senegal news latest news Mas-Ud Dramani said : “It is very disappointing. We came in to score as many goals as we can but unfortunately we couldn’t. We came in to score more and avoid conceding,” Dramani told the media after the game.


“We did one aspect by not conceding but we couldn’t score more than one goal as we expected.


“My players are let down but that is football. We hope for the best in the near future”.

Black Satellites Starting Line Up Against Senegal

The Black Satellites are facing off against the Senegalese U-20 team this afternoon at the Cape Coast Stadium, in the final qualifying match for the African Youth Championship; the match is set to kickoff at 15:00GMT.


Facing a 3-1 deficit, the Satellites need a minimum of two unanswered goals in order to qualify.


Coach Didi Dramani has announced the starters and there was one change in the lineup as Hassacas’ Saliu Babawo replaced Asante Kotoko’s Mohamed Amando for today’s win-or-go-home match.

Black Satellites Starting Line Up Against Senegal

Black Satellites Involved In Crucial Encounter In AYC Final Round Today

Ghana’s U20 side will seek to overturn the 3-1 deficit when they come up against their Senegalese counterparts in African Youth Championship final qualifier to be played on Friday.


Coach Didi Dramani’s side suffered defeat in the first leg tie away in Dakar and are poised to secure victory a comfortable victory at the Cape Coast Stadium to see them through to the 2017 AYC to staged in Zambia.


The Black Satellites faced a similar hurdle in the previous stage of the qualifiers when they had to score 4 goals at home to overturn a 2-1 defeat to Ethiopia to book a place in the final stage of the qualifiers.


Ahead of Friday’s game, the U-17 bronze medal winning coach says his team is determined to keep a clean sheet and score more than a goal against the young Teranga Lions.


He added that he has beefed up his squad with players who can be relied on at a time that the team needs them most.


“We plan our objectives in our preparations that is to keep a clean sheet and to score more than one goal . We have realized our weaknesses but as for our strengths they are within us. We also saw the weaknesses of their opponents and their strengths and we have been working on that in our planning and training”, coach Dramani said.


“We had the opportunity to host the Bukinabe U20 who play quite closely to the Senegalese and from my opinion Burkina Faso gave us the opposition to expect on Friday.”


 


“We also had the opportunity of adding other players to the squad who given the opportunity can show that I’ve out their best. We need players who are fully fit and can replace our injured players.”


 


“The players know the importance of qualifying to the African Youth Championship Andre opportunities that it can bring to their individual development and the development of the team.”


“From our preparations we are ready for the match against Senegal it’s not beyond us to reach our objectives. The boys are really motivated for the game, the head coach of the Black Satellites said in an interview.


The match which will be played at the newly constructed Cape Coast Stadium will kick off at 3:00GMT.

Black Satellites Suffer Defeat Against Senegal

The national under 20 team of Ghana,the Black Satellites where beaten by Senegal by 3-1 in the first leg of the  Africa Youth Championships qualifier on Saturday.


Young Lions of Teranga gained huge advantage when Ibrahima Niane scored three for the home side ahead of the reverse fixture in Ghana.


 


Ghana’s consolation came through Striker Jonathan Osabutey who kept Ghana’s dream alive.


The 2009 World Champions have a huge task to eliminate their counterparts in other to progress to the next round.


Ghana will need to record at least two unanswered goals in the second leg tie in other progress to the 2017 Africa Youth Championship in Zambia.


 


The Black Satellites secured third position at the last AYC championships that was held in Senegal in 2015 and will be looking to secure a spot in Zambia

Black Satellites Starting XI To Face Ethiopia

Coach Mas Ud Dramani has named his starting line up for Ghana’s African Youth Championship qualifier against Ethiopa in Addis Ababa.  


 


Asante Kotoko forward Dauda Mohammed will start upfront for the Black Satellites and will be skipper for the team.


 


Inter Allies goalkeeper Kwame Baah will be in post for Ghana with  Enoch Adu, Geofrey Acheampong, Ishaku Konda and Daniel Amoah all in defence.


 


WAFA’s Charles Boateng and Dreams FC midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey will start on the flanks for the Black Satellites in today’s game. Kick off is 1pm (local time).

GFA Calls For Support For The Black Satellites

Spokesman of the Ghana Football Association Sannie Diara has called for massive support for the Ghana’s U-20 side as they face their Cameroonian counterparts in a friendly game on Friday, April 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium.


The friendly match serves as a preparatory ground for the satellites to qualify to the African Championships to be played in Zambia next year.


In an interview with Sportscrusader.com Mr Diara said, “we are expecting massive support ahead of Friday’s game, we have made it a major priority to give equal attention to all national teams so that we can win more honours for the country”.


The Young Indomitable Lions have already arrived in the country and will spend some few days in Ghana on a training tour.
