Black Stars Midfielder Donates To Liberty Youth FC

In his quest to encourage young players to take football serious, Ghanaian international Rabiu Mohammed, on Monday donated training items to Dansoman Liberty Youth Football Club.

The items include a set of training bibs and three Brazuca footballs.

The donation signifies the Black Stars midfielder’s long standing relationship with the three-year old club which was founded by former Liberty Professionals Skipper Wahid Mohammed.

Receiving the items on behalf of the team, Founder and Head Coach, Wahid Mohammed expressed delight at gesture.

“On behalf of the team, I will like to thanks Rabiu Mohammed for the donation”, the Liberty Youth FC trainer told SportsCrusader.com.

“This is not the first time he’s done this. He has been doing things for the club under ground and for me personally.

“This items has come at a time we need them the most. The balls especially are of real quality”, Wahid added.

Rabiu Mohammed is currently recovering from an injury which ruled him out of the Black Stars AFCON 2017 penultimate qualifier against Mauritius last week.

GPL Preview: Liberty Professionals – Techiman City

Liberty Professionals will look for their second home win of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign when they welcome new entrants Techiman City to the Dansoman Park on Sunday.

The Scientific Soccer lads are unbeaten in their last two games and will count on their good form to collect all three points at home against the league debutants.

Coach George Lamptey has tagged his charges as serious title contenders and they will be the odds on favourites to win this one after playing so well in holding inform All Stars to a scoreless draw at Wa last Sunday.

The Dansoman Park has been a good haunting venue for them since they joined the Ghanaian top-flight league, and, it will be interesting to see how City try to deny them the points on Sunday afternoon.

City lost their last away game 2-4 to Sekondi Hasaacas at Essipong, and, will seek to make amends by gaining a good result from this one.

Coach Yusif Abubakar is an experienced figure at this level and his has some trusted arsenal to choose from as they go in search of their first away point(s) in the Ghanaian top-flight.

He will hope his experienced players bring their best game to the field in a game most will class them as second favourites.

Kennedy Ashia Tips Liberty Professional For Top Four Spot

Former Liberty Professional midfielder, Kennedy Ashia has tipped the Dansoman-based Premier League side for a top four finish in the upcoming 2016 domestic football season.

The prolific midfielder made his mark with Liberty Professionals before joining the exodus train to Sudan but has backed his former side for supremacy when the new season begins.

The strongly-built attacking midfielder, traded Liberty for Al Hilal in the Sudanese top flight after another impeccable season in the famous white jersey for the “Scientific” soccer lads.

The 23-year-old former Dansoman fan-favourite tipped Latif Blessing to lead the ‘Whites’to a fourth place finish at the very least if not the ultimate trophy in the coming season.

The Al Hilal attacking sensation revealed his feelings for his former side and urged the playing body to confirm their domestic supremacy with the ultimate trophy at the end of the season.

“I’m tipping Liberty Professionals for a top four finish at the very least. I did a lot for Liberty Professionals but I believe this crop of players can even do better before I left.

“I’m no more with the club but do miss my former team mates because Liberty Professional is my mother club and I cannot forget about them in anyway. Latif Blessing and Tamimu are just two of many quality players in the side that can inspire Liberty to the ultimate trophy.”

Kennedy Ashia passed on several attempts from domestic rivals to sign him in the off-season before joining the exodus train to Al Hilal, Sudan.
