Laryea Kingston Predicts 2-0 Win For Hearts In Super Clash

Former Ghana International Laryea Kingston has backed Accra Hearts of Oak to record a win over their arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Monday’s Super Clash between the two.

The two Ghanaian giants will go head-to-head for the first time this season in the last of the

Ghana Premier League Match-Day 10 encounters at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

And Laryea has backed his former club to collect the three points at stake in this encounter as they chase a first league win over the Porcupines in Accra in six years.

“I think Hearts of Oak will carry the day and I am also positive that they will win by 2-0 in

front of the Accra fans,” he told Tema based Obunu FM.

“So far this season, Hearts has shown the better form as compared to Kotoko, and I am positive that it will come to play in Monday’s game for all to see,” he added.

“Games between both sides has known no form guide in the past, but, this time around, I can see that happening and that is why I am backing the Phobians to carry the day,” he stated.

He said the game will be a tough one though as Kotoko will come in very determined not to lose, but, after 90 minutes, Hearts should be able to make their home advantage count and press on for the win.

Hearts will be seeking their sixth win of the season in Monday’s game, and, victory will take them top of the standing after leaders Wa All Stars lost at Tarkwa to Medeama SC on Sunday.

The biggest game of the first round of this season’s Ghana Premier League (GPL) is set for Monday, 2 May at the Accra Sports Stadium where Premier Club, Accra Hearts of Oak will host their arch rivals on the domestic scene Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

This is one of eight games that would be played this weekend as the GPL enters Match-Day 10 across all league centers nationwide.

Results after these round of games could see changes in positions on the league log as teams continue to battle for honours.

Accra: Hearts of Oak vs Asante KotokoAccra Hearts of Oak will look to win their third home game of the of the season when they welcome bitter rivals Asante Kotoko to the Accra Sports Stadium in the topmost liner of the Match-Day 10 GPL games.

The Phobians lie second on the log with 18 points, seven clear of Monday’s opponents who are ninth and have struggled for form this season.

Hearts would fancy their chances of winning this game after making an impressive start to this campaign which has seen them sit just two points off the leaders Wa All Stars.

They have won five of the nine games they have played in the league so far with only one defeat. Hearts has scored 13 goals and conceded eight in their nine games.

Kotoko have had a tough start to the season, winning just three of their nine games with four defeats. They have scored seven goals and conceded nine with confidence in their squad low at the moment.

In would be interesting how they respond to this game after losing their last encounter at home to New Edubiase United.

Tarkwa: Medeama SC vs Wa All StarsLeaders Wa All Stars will trek to the T&A Park at Tarkwa to face the might of Medeama SC in another tough game to look up to.

All Stars have surprised all with their form this season, but, could be brought down to earth as the visit the Western region for the first time this season.

Dansoman: Liberty Professionals vs Aduana Stars

Liberty Professionals who are third, will be at home to eighth place Aduana Stars at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman in what should be a good game to savour.

It will be a battle of the two leading marksmen in this season, with Latif Atta Blessing of Liberty on seven goals as against the six of Yahaya Mohammed of Aduana Stars.

Obuasi: New Edubiase United vs Berekum Chelsea

Fourth placed Berekum Chelsea will travel to the Ashanti region to play New Edubiase United at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi.

United are on a high after their win over Kotoko in Kumasi in their last game, and, will seek to make life difficult for the Berekum side.

Bechem: Bechem United vs WAFABechem United who are 11th will return to their home base to welcome the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in a game they will hope to win after losing their last game. WAFA are fifth on the table and will look to register their first away win of the campaign.

Tema: Inter Allies vs Techiman City

Techiman City are sixth on the table, and, they will trek to the harbour city to play the might of Inter Allies at the Tema Sports Stadium.

Allies have lost their last three games and will seek to make amends against the league debutants who are still in search of their first ever away win in the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Dawu: Dreams FC vs Sekondi Hasaacas

Seventh placed Dreams FC will welcome Sekondi Hasaacas to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ Park at Dawu where they will hope for a good result after losing their last two games.

Hasaacas have lost all their four away games and have the league’s worst defensive record, having let in 18 goals in the nine games they have played.

Cape Coast: Ebusua Dwarfs vs AshantiGold SC

Bottom club Ebusua Dwarfs will host defending champions AshantiGold SC at the Robert Mensah Park at Cape Coast where they will look for their third win of the campaign.

The Miners are in difficult times at the moment with pressure on head coach Bashir Hayford and club CEO Kudjoe Fianoo who are being called by fans of the club to resign.

Diminutive Ghanaian midfielder Solomon Asante has set his sight on the upcoming Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Super Cup with his Congolese side when they take on Etiole Du Sahel on February 20, 2016.

The TP Mazembe slippery midfielder is relishing the prospect of adding the Super Cup to his trophy cabinet after lifting the CAF Champions league with Mois katumbe side late last year.

The Black Stars forward missed the latter stages of 2015 due to a niggling injury but has since announced his return to the Congolese side in style with two sumptuous assist to boot.

Asante rued the chance to lay their hands on the Clubs World Cup and has pledged to add the CAF Super cup to their ever growing trophy haul when they take on Confederation Cup holders Etiole du Sahel on February 20, 2016.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fixed Sunday, February 7, for the Champions of Champions game between league winners Ashgold and FA Cup winners Medeama SC.

Information gathered by sportscrusader.com reveals that, the date forms part of pre-season arrangements by the GFA to pave way for the new football season.

The GFA has announced February 20, for the commencement of the new football season.

The league has been hanging for over three months following series of legal challenges.
