Polo"s Only Record Is "Talking" - Barima Atuahene

Barimah Atuahene,  a chairman of the national chapters committee of Accra Hearts of Oak has asked club legend Mohammed Polo to shut up and allow his certificate in coaching do the talking for him as a former player who wants to recognised and valued.

Mohammed Polo has angered the Hearts fans, current board and previous board members notably, Harry Zakkour with his comment claiming will rather play for arch-rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko should he resurrect in the future.

The dribbling magician as Polo was nicknamed was answering a question on life after playing most of his career with the Accra based club. Former Hearts defender, Agyemang Duah answered a similar question after playing for both clubs and tipped the Kotoko fans to be more benevolent than the side he won CAF champions league glory with.

Barimah Atuahene in an interview with Kumasi based, Boss fm 93.7, could not hold back his words on Polo’s damning verdict on the supporter base of the club of which he Atuahene is a leader.

Atuahene said, “Hearts of Oak isn’t the only club Polo can prove his mantra as a head simply because he played for the club. Players like Kuku Dadzie played for Kotoko but never coached the club but he’s been successful with Hassacas and the national team. I always advise Mohammed Polo instead of talking he should  rather upgrade his coaching certificate and get a better coaching license than what he has now.”

Supporters did not help him neither did the club but he was not the only player at that time helping Hearts there were many. He is talking more than he should and his record as a coach doesn’t warrant him to speak that much as he often does lately,”he added.

Hearts of Oak Administrative Secretary Resigns

Accra Hearts of Oak’s longest serving administrative secretary Rosemond Atsitsogbui has resigned after 15 years at the club.

Sources within the club revealed that Atsitsogbui resigned due to poor working conditions and unpaid salaries by the club for over five months.

According to the information, other members of staff at the secretariat who have not been paid for the past five months are unable to report for work because they have no means to leave their respective homes to the office.

The board has since ordered its administrative manager, Hackman Aidoo to act in that capacity until a substantive secretary is employed.

Meanwhile, newly signed players of the club will be paid by the close of Monday.

Hearts Of Oak Board Shift Decision On Coach Kenichi To Thursday

The fate of Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, will be determined on Thursday, footballcrusader.com sources have revealed.

The embattled coach who was tasked to win the G-6 Invitational Tournament or face the sack presented his technical report to the Club’s Management on Monday an action that has been forwarded to the Board who are said to hold a meeting on Thursday to decide the future of the coach.

According to our sources, the coach decision to either sack or maintain the services of the coach, was originally supposed to take place on Monday, but Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV is said to have requested to be part of the decision making of the coaches future, hence the need to push the meeting to Thursday.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi has come under some serious criticism since he arrived in the Club a few months ago. Apart from winning a match prior to the G-6 tournament, the Phobians under him, have lost almost all their matches, an action that has not gone down well with the Clubs fans, especially the Board of Directors.

NO CASH: Hearts deny $100,000 injection from board chairman

Hearts of Oak have dismissed reports board chairman Togbe Afede XIV has handed the club a whopping $100,000 to prepare for the coming season.

Reports were rife the revered Asogli chief had boosted the club with the cash injection.

This comes just off the heels of another denied report of a similar amount being handed the team by Ghana’s Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

Spokesman for the Phobians Kwame Opare Addo has again dismissed reports of the release of the massive funds to the club by the board chairman.

“The news making rounds of $100,000 from the board chairman is not true,” he said.

“A budget for the season is being generated and will be presented to the board for consideration and approval.

“Until this is done, how then can an amount of $100,000 be released to the club?”
