Headline sponsor of the 2016 Unity Games, Vodafone Ghana has praised former Black Stars Skipper and Election 2016 Peace Ambassador Stephen Appiah.


Speaking at the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games Press Soiree, Mrs Agnes Emefa Esaah, a member of the marketing team of Vodafone Ghana Lauded the contributions of Appiah in promoting peace in the country.

PFAG pledges Support to 2016 Vodafone Unity Games

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has pledged it’s support to the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games.


The Vodafone Unity Game forms part of former Black Stars Skipper, Stephen Appiah’s plans to promote Peace and Unity among Ghanaians before, during and after the 2016 General election.


Speaking at the a Press Soiree organised by Primeval Media-the Organizers of the Unity Games, Augustine Arhunful, a former Ghanaian International and a member of the PFAG stated the players welfare body is fully in support of the initiative.


“It is not the first time Unity Games or a Peace Match will take place in Ghana. Before the 2012 election, there was one organized in Tamale by the NCCE. But unfortunately we could not play the one in Accra”, he recalled.







“And so I am here on behalf of the PFAG to pledge our support to this event, because we strong believe that football brings all of us together”, Arhunful added.


Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah will lead a team of current and former international football stars in a two legged tie in June this year in the Vodafone Unity Games.


The first will be in Kumasi Against Asante Kotoko on June 8 with the second fixture in Accra on June 11 against the Black Stars.


Some of the players that will be involved in the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games include former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell, Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke as well as ex Dutch international and Barcelona star Patrick Kluyvert.

GHALCA chief Commends Vodafone

The newly elected Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Mr. Kudjo Fianoo has commended Ghanaian Telecommunication giants, Vodafone Ghana, for their effort in promoting football in the Country.


Vodafone were outdoored on Friday night as the official Headline sponsor of the 2016 Unity Games which is slated for June this year.


And speaking at the press Soiree at the Accra Sports Stadium, Kudjo Fianoo, who last Thursday was elected as the chairman of Clubs welfare body, says Vodafone has been associated with football for a long time.


Mr. Fianoo noted that, 2016 is a very important year for Ghana due to the upcoming general election and called on Ghanaian to support efforts being made by any body or institution in promoting peace.

The newly elected GHALCA boss also commended Primeval Media, the Organizers of the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games for using football to promote Peace in the country.


Ghana will go to the polls later this year and as part of his role as the Peace Ambassador, former Ghana Skipper, Stephen Appiah will lead a host of international football icons in a two legged game in June this year.


The first game will be in Kumasi Against Asante Kotoko with the second in Accra versus the Black Stars.







Sol Campbell, William Gallas, Dwight Yorke, Patrick Kluyvert, Jay Jay Okocha and Simao are among the players who will partake in the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games

Vodafone Happy to Be Associated with 2016 Unity Games

Telecommunication giants Vodafone have expressed their w joy in partnering Primeval Media and Stephen Appiah for this year’s Unity Gamesmanship 


In June this year, former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah will lead a team of former and current international football stars in a two legged match in Accra and Kumasi.


Speaking at the official Press Soiree of the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games on Friday night, Emefa Esaah, a member of the Vodafone Ghana marketing team, expressed her outfit’s delight to be part of the event.


“We are very happy to join Primeval and Stephen Appiah to bring you this Vodafone Unity Games. It is going to be an exciting time, we will have fun together and we will be United as Ghanaians”, Emefa Esaah said.


The first game of the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games will be the international Stars against Asante Kotoko On June 8 in Kumasi where as the second will be in Accra on June 11 against the Black Stars.


Sunderland Striker, Jermain Defoe, Westham midfielder Alex Song and Ghanaian duo of Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien will all play in the 2016 Vodafone Unity Games along with with other celebrated football icons
