Jesus Took Away the Fear of Death By Billy Joe Daugherty

Since we, God’s children, are human beings—made of flesh and blood—He became flesh and blood too by being born in human form; for only as a human being could He die and in dying break the power of the devil who had the power of death. Only in that way could he deliver those who through fear of death have been living all their lives as slaves to constant dread. Hebrews 2:14,15 TLB

It was out of love that God sent His Son to the earth in the form of a man. Jesus was obedient to God’s will for His life and willingly went to the cross so you could be free from the oppression of the devil. After He died and went to hell, He took the keys of hell and death away from Satan. (Rev. 1:18.)

Because Jesus now has the keys of death, you no longer have to fear dying. You know what is beyond the veil of death. When the time comes, you can confidently cross over into eternity. Likewise, when a family member or friend crosses over to the other side, you know that they are in a much better place. They are not gone forever. It is only a matter of time when you will see them again. Your eyes have now been opened to see that Jesus is there to welcome your family, friends, and you into heaven.

Sorrow Not as Those Who Have No Hope

We should not allow grief to consume us when a loved one or a close friend has died. Your life should not end when someone else dies. Remember, that individual would want you to continue living to your fullest potential. Even in situations where someone has been murdered or died in a senseless accident, it’s important that you use the pain you feel to propel you forward rather than letting your life end by being consumed with grief and depression.

In the beginning, it may be difficult; but as you keep moving forward, you will eventually be able to help others who have gone through similar situations. In the following verses, the Apostle Paul shares what happens to a Christian when the individual dies. He did not want the person left behind to “be full of sorrow.” He also goes on to describe a future event that will affect everyone on the earth.
And now, dear brothers, I want you to know what happens to a Christian when he dies so that when it happens, you will not be full of sorrow, as those are who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life again, we can also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with Him all the Christians who have died. I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet Him ahead of those who are in their graves. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul- stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever. So comfort and encourage each other with this news. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 TLB

The latter verses describe what is called the Rapture. This is a time when the physical bodies of Christians will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air. Even the bodies of those who have died will be resurrected. Those who are alive will be changed in a moment. In the twinkling of an eye, they will be transformed into glorified bodies. This is a word of encouragement. The Bible says to comfort one another with these words. There is a great future ahead for you and for all believers.

DEATH IS NOT THE END By Billy Joe Daugherty

The Sting of Death Is Sin

What does this mean? Sin produces death. It is a sting that results in death if it is not removed. People who haven’t given their lives to Christ do not have any hope for eternal salvation. They only hope that God will allow them to go to heaven. Many try to build up a stockpile of good works, hoping their good deeds will open the gates of heaven for them.

However, there is only one pathway that leads to heaven. If they do not take it, they are destined to spend eternity in hell, separated from God.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

No one would have any hope of spending eternity in heaven had it not been for Jesus. He paid the wages of sin for mankind. He died so you might live! The moment you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you receive God’s forgiveness. Your sins are cleansed, and the sting is removed! Your spirit receives the gift of eternal life.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Corinthians 5:17

Your spirit man is recreated when you become born again. The stain of sin that separated you from God is now washed clean. The old nature of sin is gone, and a new Godnature has entered your heart.

Right With God

You also become righteous in the eyes of God. You receive your righteousness the same way you received salvation—by faith. Unrighteousness brings fear, inferiority, and condemnation. But righteousness produces faith, courage, and freedom from guilt.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

The gift of righteousness is available to all who call upon the name of Jesus in faith. It is as close as your heart and mouth. This means that you believe you are righteous and that you don’t allow anyone to make you feel unrighteous. If thoughts of condemnation or inferiority flood your mind, you overcome them by speaking aloud what the Word says about your righteousness.
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8-10

Death Has No Sting for You!

When you invite Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Savior, you have received the gift of eternal life and enter into the kingdom of God! When the time comes for you, or someone you know, to cross over into heaven, you don’t have to be fearful.

Police Investigates Death Of 3 Kids In Takoradi Fire

The police in Takoradi have commenced investigations to ascertain how three children  were burnt to death at Bidifuom, a suburb of the Takoradi Market Circle in the Western Region.

According to the Takoradi District Police Commander, Superintendent Peter Ofori Donkor, says the police investigation will be hinged on information made available to it by the Ghana National Fire Service, which has to first confirm the cause of the fire.

Narrating the incident to Citi News, Supt. Ofori Donkor said “at about 2:30am, the police had reports that there was fire outbreak at the Takoradi Market Circle at a place called Bidifuom.

Police moved to the scene and it was observed that a kiosk was totally destroyed by fire. Three children were burnt to death in the process and their bodies have since been sent to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital for autopsy.”

The tragic death of the two girls and the boy aged between one and three years, broke at the time when the Bidifoum part of the Takoradi Market Circle, was full of merry makers in the heat of the West Side Carnival celebrations.

While some residents alleged that the mother of the children had locked the kiosk in which the three children were sleeping with a candle to join the merry makers, others suspect arson by the father of one of the kids, who is alleged to have been at loggerheads with the mother.

This year’s Christmas celebrations in the Western Region has recorded another unfortunate incident following the death of Bright Larbo, a 22 year old Takoradi Polytechnic student, and Nasiru Amoah, a 24 year old welder who drowned at the Albert Bosomtwe Sam fishing Harbor on Christmas day.

It is unclear when the deceased ate the food.

Ada Sec-Tech a Death Trap

Teachers and students of Ada Senior High Technical School in the Ada West District are pleading with the District Assembly and sector Ministry to carry out a fumigation exercise in the school.

The mattresses and pillows of the boarders and teacher’s clothing are infested with blood sucking bedbugs and teachers and boarding students complain of skin infections and sleeplessness they have had to endure owing to the attacks from the bedbugs.

Ada Senior High Technical School started as a community secondary school for students living in and around Sege, Ada West District Capital. It is the only second-cycle school in the Distruct.

The school has been battling with severe lack of basic teaching and learning materials and infrastructure for both students and teachers.

On top of the school’s handicap of infrastructures and teaching and learning materials are the infestations of blood sucking bedbugs in the clothing and bedding and mattresses of boarding students and the few teachers who are resident in the school.

Due to the bedbugs infestations, boarding students, both sexes, preferred to sleep on the bare floor. Other students slept on the corridors under untreated mosquito nets, a situation that further exposed the students to malaria from mosquitoes which carry the plasmodium which causes malaria.

The Assistant Head of Administration of the School, Madam Dorcas Naana Wobeson, lamented on the bedbugs infestations in the school.

Further, she mentioned that the school has over the years been struggling to make do with the least available infrastructure in the school, a challenge that is having a huge toll on teaching and learning.

The school has no vehicle except the headmaster’s which the school has been depending on for its rounds.

The school is on Christmas vacation and it is the fervent hope of students, PTA, teaching staff and administration that the sector Ministry and District Assembly move in to solve some of the school’s immediate needs and fumigate the school before resumption in 2016.

Police Blamed for Man’s Death In Volta Region

Police in the Volta Region have been accused of causing the death of a man at Dzadzefe in the Akatsi North District of the region.

Family of the deceased has blamed the police for the injustice meted out on their relative when he was alive.

The deceased was accused of breaking into the house of a parliamentary aspirant of the governing National Democratic Congress Stephen Torpko.

Stephen Torkpo reportedly ordered his ‘boys’ to beat up the deceased before he was taken to the police station.

According to the family, their relative was then tied with a rope in the police cell, where he was pronounced dead the following morning.

“Someone wanted to untie him and give him food but the police refused,” one relative, Kofi told Joy News correspondent Ivy Setordzi.

The family is seeking justice because they do not understand why their relative who left the house alive did not return in the same state.

“We want our brother back alive, and we want justice,” Kofi said.

However, in an interview with Joy News, Regional Crime Office, Superintendent Seidu Adamu said the police is still investigating to ascertain the circumstances under which the incident occurred.
