We Have Plan "B" For Hayford"s Absence - C. K. Akunnor

Dreams Football Club head coach Charles Kwabena Akunnor says he has an alternative plan to approach Wa All Stars on Saturday.

C. K. Akunnor as he is affectionately called will name his team for the first time this season without Emmanuel Hayford in the line up after the midfielder was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct in their last Ghana Premier League (GPL) match against Inter Allies.

But the former Black Stars captain is not worried he will be without one of his key players for the game against Wa All Stars at the Dawu Sports Stadium on Saturday.

“If you have a team, you must have an alternative plan for games depending on who is available and who is not. We have a plan B for the absence of Emmanuel Hayford tomorrow and we hope we won’t miss him much,” C. K. Akunnor told Koforidua based Good Life FM on Friday.

Charles Kwabena Akunnor also called on the people of Dawu to throng to the stadium tomorrow to support the team to victory.

“The attendance to our first home game was very positive and we are pleading with them to come to the stadium in their numbers again to support the team.

“We need their support because their presence is very important for the team,” He said.

Emmanuel Hayford was involved in a brawl with Inter Allies’ Lord Ofosuhene at the Tema Sports Stadium last Sunday, and, was sent off by match day referee Yaw Ametepe.

He will served a four-match suspension starting from this weekend.

Dreams FC midfielder Emmanuel Hayford has apologized to the club and the teaming fans for his unsporting behaviour that led to his sending off in the game against Inter Allies.

 

The former Accra Hearts of Oak player was sent off by referee Yaw Ametepe after emotionally retaliating to a cynical challenge on captain Abdul Bashiru by an Inter Allies FC player.

Hayford lost his cool and had a scuffle with Lord Ofosuhene of Allies with both players taking an early shower with about 15 minutes to end the game.

“Words will never be enough to express how regretful I am for being rude in our game last Sunday. I understand I let the management, the technical team, the playing body and the supporters down which shouldn’t have happened,” Emmanuel Hayford told the club official website.

 

“I am pleading to you all with much love and respect to find a place in your heart to forgive me because am really sorry and it won’t happen again.”

 

The combative midfielder who has been key to the club’s smooth start to the season is to miss Sunday’s home game against Wa All stars.

Dreams FC occupies the third spot on the three-week old premier league table with 7 points and continues to remain as one of the three unbeaten sides in the competition.

Lawson Bekui grabbed a brace in his first premier league start for the club before Evans Mensah and Prince Baffoe scored for Inter Allies to push the game to a pulsating 2-2 draw.

Akunnor To Meet Hayford Over Red Card

Dreams FC coach, Charles Kwabena Akunnor says he will meet Emmanuel Hayford over a brawl he had Lord Offosuhene.

The former Hearts of Oak attacking midfielder fought with Inter Allies’ Lord Offosuhene deep into the second half of their premier league two-all draw at the Tema sports stadium.

And match day referee Yaw Ametepeh gave the two players their marching orders. Dreams FC missed the influence of Emmanuel Hayford, but CK Akunnor insist he did let him down but he will talk to him.

“It happened at the heat of the moment. I don’t know what happened, I only saw both of them fighting and they deserve to go out but we have to talk about it.

“I am not let down by anything, it happened at the heat of the moment and I’m sure he lost his temper.” He noted.

Emmanuel Hayford will miss the ‘Still Believe’ team in their next premier league outing against Wa All Stars at the Dawu stadium on Match Week Four.

He joined Dreams FC from Accra Hearts of Oak on free transfer after he was sacked by the Phobians for alleged ‘lack of commitment.’

Dreams Football Club and Liberty Professionals will lock horns at the Ajax park on Wednesday in a pre-season friendly.

The newly promoted Ghana Premier League side will play as host to the Dansoman-based club in a high profile friendly match as both side sides put finishing touches team in their preparations for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season which will start on February 20.

Dreams FC recorded a zero-all stalemate in their last pre-season fixture against Okyeman Planners FC last weekend and C.K Akunnor and his charges will seek to return to winning ways on Wednesday.

The two teams will meet on Match Week twelve when the new Ghana Premier league season begins on February 20.

Today’s match willkick off at 14:00 GMT or 2:00 P.M. at the Ajax park near Okponglo.

Dreams FC Confirm Transfer Deadline Day Signings

Dreams Football Club wish to confirm the signings of Prosper Donkor, Emmanuel Hayford and Mohammed Razik.

Deals for these three players were concluded on Wednesday in time to beat the registration deadline.

Prosper Donkor, a midfielder, arrives from Bechem United while Emmanuel Hayford (forward) and Mohammed Razik (defender) were secured from Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions respectively.

The trio join the likes of Godfred Asante, Alhassan Kalusha, Aaron Amoah, Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, Lawson Bekui, Gabriel Abbey and Zuberu Sharani who were all secured during this off-season period.

President of Dreams Football Club Mohammed Jiji Alifoe said on behalf of the club: “We are delighted to have enriched the team with these quality signings.

“We believe we have given the technical team the best of quality there is to offer to ensure we make the impact we want in our debut campaign in the Premier League.

“The new players are welcome to the club and I am sure they, like the existing players at this club, will enjoy their time with us.”

There were moves across the country an notable among done deals are former league golden boot winner, Eric Bekoe’s move to Sekondi Hasaacas.

Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Hayford has joined Ghana premier league debutants Dreams Football Club.

The 24-year old attacking midfielder had his contract terminated by Hearts of Oak at the 2015/16 league season for alleged lack of commitment and discipline.

Emmanuel Hayford denied the allegations leveled against him by the club.

And the Kweiman-based club have moved swiftly to add the talented playmaker to the list of their registered new players on the transfer deadline day
