Former Ghana international Godwin Attram has expressed his astonishment at the quality of players in the second tier of Ghana football.
The Accra Great Olympics centre forward commended the technical qualities of players in the ongoing GN Bank Division one league and has called on the players to fine tune their mental attitude if they are to make it as footballers.
The experienced centre forward for the Wonder club amazingly joined the drop at the end of the 2014/15 FCPPL and has since been battling for their return ticket back to the top flight.
Attram touted players in the second tier league as budding talents that only needs a little bit of attention to complete their readiness for the international market.
The speedy centre forward admitted under-rating players in the second tier league before the start of last but has since changed his attitude toward players horning their skills in the GN Bank Division one league.
“The quality of players in the division one league has surprised me the most. The players’ understanding of the game is almost perfect even though sometimes you see petty mistaken committed by these chaps.
“With the quality of passing exhibited by players in the division one league, I think they have surprised me the most. Yes they are not Aas good as some of their colleagues on the premier league but their passing, aerial threat, footwork and most importantly love for the game is amazing.” Attram told sports crusader.
The Accra Great Olympics centre forward then urged players in the second tier league to live a professional life and toughen their mind set if they are to feast on their God given talent.
“The only advice I will add to players in the Division One league is for them to be mentally tough, accept the outcome of matches and continue to fight.
“They should not just drop their heads because of defeats or over celebrate because of wins. When you come to accept the three outcomes of football matches, there is nothing that can down you as a player or even supporters.” He noted.
Finally players in the Division One league must show signs of a professional footballer and let the society see you as a potential future star.” Attram concluded.
