The President of South African Football Association Danny Jordan has asserted his believe in Gianni Infantino as FIFA boss, as the association is been strengthened.
Infantino is faced with the task of cleansing FIFA as it has been faced with wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering in the past recent years.
“The reporting lines are clear, the governance of FIFA is strengthened, transparency has been strengthened,” he told Eye Witness news.
He further went to say “So on the plus side, he comes into a new environment for organizing, managing and controlling world football but he’s a person that has, I think, significant experience to steer FIFA into calmer waters.”
Jordaan did not attend the presidential election in Zurich, citing a busy schedule in his duties as mayor of the South African coastal city of Port Elizabeth.
According to Germany’s Kicker magazine Jordaan allegedly stayed away from the congress for the fear of possible arrest in the investigation into a $10 million bribe allegedly paid to former CONCACAF president Jack Warner to secure hosting rights for the 2010 World Cup.
