Owusu Bempah, defender and deputy captain of Accra Hearts of Oak has revealed the history of the club is serving as a motivating factor for the players who want to have their names written in the history book of the club.
The Phobians have started the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season so well to the astonishment of many with two wins and a draw and this has seen the bookmakers immediately revise their decision to now name Hearts as favourite to win the trophy for the first time since the 2008/09 league season.
The defender who has played 270-minutes in all the 3-games so far in the league mentioned the rich history of the club is serving as an incentive for the current players as they fight to win the trophy for the first time in 8-years.
“it is every players dream to win the premier league trophy and it is same with us as well. As players we are more motivated to have our names written in the history book of hearts and we know winning the league will grant us that. But it s huge task as the other teams won’t sit idle and watch us win the trophy on a silver platter,” he said.
“For now we are concentrated on winning game after game and the healthy competition among the players gives us hope for the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season,” he added.
Hearts host Bechem united at the Accra sports stadium in match week 4 of the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season.
