Chelsea Draw Man United In Entertaining Game

The biggest English Premier League game of the weekend between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge lived up to its full billing.

Chelsea started the game the brightest of the two with total domination of the ball but little penetration upfront. Louis Van Gaal’s men finally came into after settling with the game 10-minutes played.

French Forward hit United’s dangerous effort at goal with a shot in target from 20-yards but Chelsea’s number one, Thibaut Courtois was equal to the effort as he parried over the crossbar – before Martial’s effort Michael Carrick had a go from 25-yards but was a feeble one to give United the lead.

Chelsea after defending the game for 30-minutes finally came into the game with Willian, Costa and Oscar failing to find the back of the net but the latter wasted the clearest of the opportunities before the game went into recess.

Manchester United’s goal came in the 61st minute. Juan Mata fed Borthwick-Jackson on the left overlap, his cross was perfectly struck for Wayne Rooney and there was Lingard to plant it into the top corner of the net. He made it look easy, but it wasn’t. He had his back to goal but twisted and struck it on the turn, eluding Cesar Azpilicueta in the process.

Costa equalised for Chelsea in added time after he was played onside by the young Borthwick-Jackson who had dived in a with a tackle that pushed the ball past the on rushing David De Gea who had put in a spectacular number of saves but couldn’t prevent his compatriot from equalising.

The results leave Manchester United In 5th place and Chelsea in 13th place.
