Ashgold shot stopper Robert Dabuo has set his sight on the Ghanaian Super Cup trophy as a motivation for the upcoming CAF Champions league clash with OM Bejaia of Algeria in Obuasi next week
The Miners goalie issued a verbal warning to Medeama SC ahead of Sunday’s clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ashgold welcomes Algerian side OM Bejaia for the first leg of the preliminary rounds of the 2016 CAF Champions league ties.
Dabuo, 25, who played an instrumental role for the Miners in their Championship winning campaign, expressed the need for his side to usher in the season with a trophy in their hands.
The former All Stars lanky shot stopper envisages a very strong opposition from Medeama SC ahead of Sunday’s clash but ruled out any shock results on the day for the Miners.
He told sports crusader, “Both Ashgold and Medeama SC are into CAF competitions and will want to use the match to test their preparations.
It is going to be a very tough match but with the calibre of players we have and the motivation in camp, I am very much sure Ashgold will stand tall at the end of the day”.
Robert Dabuo then reiterated the need to start the season on a winning note especially with the imminent clash with O M Bejaia on Valentine day.
“We have to start with a trophy as it will motivate and raise the confidence of the playing staff. Winning the Super Cup will help raise our confidence and increase the morale ahead of our clash with Bejaia on Valentine day”. Dabuo added.
