The General Secretary of the Ghana Taekwondo Association (GTA) Mr.Charles Amofa has expressed his frustration and dislike over the tag of “lesser known sports” on the various sporting discipline apart from football by the media and Ghanaians as a whole.
In an interview with sportscrusader.com Mr. Amofa said “I cant understand why the media keeps tagging us, as a lesser known sports, that is clearly inappropriate, we are rather the least financed sport”.
According to Mr. Amofa, the rapid growth of various sporting discipline aside football especially with the participation of people across various disciplines, calls for equal attention for all sporting disciplines.
He added that the tag illuminates some negativity about the sports thereby making it a less attractive venture for corporate Ghana and pleaded for urgent change in the attitude of certain media outlets.
