Ethics Committee Cannot Rule On Cases - Oluboi Commodore

General Manager of Accra Great Olympics, Oluboi Commodore has said that the Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is subcommittee mandated to give recommendations on cases brought before it and not to rule on cases.

The GFA Ethics Committee ruled that Techiman City and Wa African United should be demoted to the third tier of Ghana football — Division Two after they were found guilty of bribery and alleged match-fixing.

But Commodore, who contested for a seat at the FA Executive Committee in last year’s elections, says their duty is not rule on matters before the FA, but to advice the football governing body of the country.

“The Ethics Committee is a sub-committee mandated by the GFA to advice them on matters at the FA.” Commodore told Asempa FM.

“Their duty is to investigate issues and make recommendations based on their findings not rule.” He added.

Techiman City has vowed to appeal the ruling which was made public on Wednesday evening by the adjudicating of the FA.

“It is the decision of the Ethics Committee but if what the committee is saying, is true then it means we only have to appeal against the decision.” Charles Kwadwo Ntim President of Techiman City told Metro FM.

“There is nothing we can do, we only have to appeal against the decision. The Ethics Committee is not the highest judicial body of the GFA.” He said.
