Accra Hearts of Oak will have the home advantage when they meet their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League scheduled to start on the 20th February.
Both teams have a long history of matches between them and soon after the Ghana Football Association released the full fixtures for the new season, fans have been engaged in who will carry the day in both legs.
Last season both teams played a highly entertaining match in both legs, and coincidentally, all two teams won away from home.
It was Heart of Oak who under the then coach Herbert Addo beat Kotoko 1-0 at the Baba Yara stadium on the 7th of February 2015. Kotoko was then led by Didi Dramani.
The second leg in Accra saw Kotoko run away with all three points as they defied all odds to beat Hearts 1-2 at the Accra sports stadium on 2nd August 2015.
Coach Duncan masterminded that defeat against Coach Herbert Addo’s side.
This time, Hearts of Oak will welcome Kotoko first to the Accra stadium on 1st May 2016. The return leg is scheduled for 10th July at the Baba Yara stadium.
