Kumasi Asante Kotoko parted company with striker Ahmed Toure on December 31, 2015, but the Ivory coast-born Burkinabe international insist he will never forget the fans of the club.
Ahmed Toure, much noted for controversy off the pitch was not registered for the upcoming Ghana Premier league season.
According to Asante Kotoko, the Burkinabe international was left out of their registered players for the season because they don’t know his whereabout.
Speaking of the first time since he was told of the club’s decision, Ahmed Toure says he will always have fans of the club at heart.
“Kotoko supporters really donated valuable items to me. I would never forget them. They were very charitable to me. Mr.Christopher (Damenya) is one person I will not forget in my life,” Ahmed Toure told Metro FM.
Ahmed Toure returned to Kotoko last season and he was showered with gifts. He revealed that Mr. Christopher Damenya bought him a car.
“He bought a car for me. He did a lot of things for me that even the Kotoko management could not do for me. I really respect him. Several supporters gave me money and valuable items.” He revealed.
There were reports that Mr. Christopher Mensah also gave Ahmed Toure a plot of land. He confirmed he was actually promised the parcel of land but he never received it.
“But For the plot of land. The man (Christopher Opoku Mensah) who promised me the plots of land has not yet handed the plots to me. But as I am alive maybe he will give it to me sometime to come. If he gives the plots of land to me, fine, I will take it but as I speak to you, I have not received the plots of land from him. Sometimes when I call him to ask of the land, he tells me people are working on the land.
“From the first day he promised to give me the land, that is what he tells me when I call him. I do not want to speak about it anymore. Its in the public that he has given me plots of land but I have not received any land from him yet.” He said.
