Confederation of African Football (CAF) instructor and Ghana Football Association (GFA) technical head, Oti Akenteng has revealed the pain he harboured from the bad treatment melted out to him during his stint as head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak is no more.
Francis Oti Akenteng was dismissed as coach of Accra Hearts of Oak following a string of poor performance by the Phobians in the African Champions League.
The management of Hearts cited non-performance and divided attention among others for the dismissal of the coach who doubles as handler of the national under-20 team.
But Oti Akenteng who has had stints as coach with Obuasi Ashgold, Okwahu united and Heart of Lions revealed to sportscrusader.com that real reasons why Hearts chose to serve him with his resignation at the Airport and coul not wait for his arrival at the club instead.
The CAF instructor explained he had earlier informed the then management (Hearts) of his decision to resign from the club with immediate effect but some individuals who were aggrieved with his decision took a cocky approach to rather draft a letter relieving him of his post than it been a resignation.
“I hold no grudges again against Hearts and I can say boldly I’ve forgiven them. I withdrew a case from court after Hearts failed to fulfill an agreement we had but that is in the past now,” he told sportscrusader.com
He added, “even God wants to be appreciated so how much more we mortals”.
Oti Akenteng since leaving Hearts and coaching Ghana premier league clubs has been away from the touch lines for a while but is still on technical duties in a different capacity – serving all the clubs in Ghana with his experience and knowledge in the game.
Coach Akenteng is currently chairing the coaching clinic for CAF/GFA license A certificate course currently underway
