Kumasi Asante Kotoko club physiotherapist has revealed the club’s crocked midfielder, Jackson should be back from the injury sustained on the fracture of the tibia and fibula during a Sunday special game.
The former Berekum Chelsea combative midfielder was on recess with the rest of the Kotoko playing body after the team had been given time off with just a week to the commencement of the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season.
Flashback: Jackson Owusu in action for Kotoko
Jackson, 27, suffered a leg-break injury early on Sunday morning while playing in a “Sunday Special” match. He was quickly rushed to the hospital. A surgery was to be performed the next day after his injured left foot was cast in Plaster of Paris (POP).
Media reports had ruled him out for minimum eight months but the latest scan has revealed the length of injury is far less than initially feared according to the club’s physio, Newton.
“Jackson’s injury is not as severe as initially feared as we diagnosed the injury level as minor two graded injury. Treatment started after the operation and Owusu was asked to visit the hospital for review but the medical exams later conducted showed glimpses of hope and confirmed there was no need to have an MRI scan as the extent of the injury initially feared was just a manageable injury,” Newton told Boss fm.
“Jackson can now walk without the crutches, can use the stair case and even squat on the knee and I can say in two months he should be back,” he added.
