Jackson Owusu"s Injury Not Too Serious - Club Physio

Kumasi Asante Kotoko club medical physiotherapist, Jerry Newton has revealed updates on the club’s crocked midfielder, Jackson Owusu.

The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder sustained a knee injury at the Magazine Maakro Park during a ‘Sunday Special’ game that sees players from various clubs both home and abroad who are on holidays, meet to play football every Sunday morning and had to be carried away in a private vehicle to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

The club’s physio, Newton who has been closely monitoring the combative midfielder since undergoing successful surgery  at the KATH has spoken on the players recovery program and admitted the fans can keep calm as the injury is not worse as initially thought.

“Jackson Owusu’s injury is a grade two minor rated injury which means it is not too serious as initially feared and with the rehabilitation and other management he should be back in a couple of months,” he told Boss FM.

“As the player got injured whilst the whole playing body was away made it a bit difficult to be present to access the level of injury but since we returned and checked up on him has realised there was no need to have an MRI scan. Jackson is recuperating nicely as the pain has subdued drastically and the signs of him joining the team sooner than later are encouraging,” he added.

Kotoko played  their first competitive game of the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season without Jackson on Saturday when they lost by 2-goals to nil away to West African Football Academy (WAFA).
