Photos: FIFA Unveil Football Museum

The world governing body of Football, FIFA has unveiled the federations football museum in the Swiss capital of Zurich.



 



As the football governing body gears up to elect a new president for the federation after the suspension of long-term head Joseph Blatter, has had the lenses of the world media but this time for a positive reason.



 



Footballs and boots from 1900 until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil are on display, as is every football used at each previous major tournament.



The official website describes the intent of the museum ‘to celebrate the rich heritage of football’ with the project, which has taken two years to bring to life and is set to officially open on February 28.



‘The FIFA World Football Museum tells the story of how world football’s governing body has developed association football globally and made it the undisputed number one sport in the world, uniting nations and bringing continents together,’ the website says.
