Wa African United has accepted the ruling of the Ghana Football Association Ethics Committee ruling to demote to them third tier of Ghana football.
Wa African United and Techiman City were found guilty of bribery and alleged match-fixing to influence results of their match week 22 Division One League fixture last season.
Techiman City appealed the decision of the Ethics Committee and were granted stay of execution to play the rest of their matches pending hearing before the FA adjudicating body.
On Wednesday February 3, the Ethics Committee of the FA ruled that Techiman City and Wa African United are guilty of match-fixing and has been demoted to Division two.
And Wa African United says they accept the ruling because you can’t escape the law when you do the wrong thing.
“I am not surprised at the ruling because I was expecting it, one thing we should know is that one cannot do wrong and go free,” Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Gyamerah Kwabena Yiakwa II told Joy FM.
“According to our football rules the receiver and the giver are all guilty so if we are demoted so be it, we accept the ruling.” He added.
