Accra Hearts of Oak has hit the first jackpot of the Ghana premier league season after the club revealed huge profits made from gate proceedings when the club hosted New Edubiase in the opening game of the 2015/16 league season.
The phobian supporters were at the Accra sports stadium in their numbers to throw their weight behind the rainbow boys who were meeting New Edubiase, a side that has been difficult to beat at the home grounds for the past two-years.
The Public Relations officer of the club, Opare Addo admitted the club were very surprised with the amount that was made from gate proceeds as it has been less in the past five-months.
He said, “we made Ghc61,000 from gate proceeds for the game against New Edubiase last Sunday and it is the best amount we have accrued or made from gate proceeds in over five-years”.
Hearts next home game is in week four of the Ghana premier league when they host Bechem United.
