GPL Match-Day 21 Preview: Sekondi Hasaacas v Dreams FC

Sekondi Hasaacas will seek to bring their 2016 Ghana Premier League (GPL) back on track when they host debutants Dreams FC at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipong on Sunday afternoon.

They have failed to win in their last three games (two defeats and a draw), and, have dropped into the relegation zone with 22 points from their 20 games played.

The Green and White’s will need to get points on board as soon as possible if they are to save their season with nine games to be played after this weekend’s round of games.

A win in Sunday’s encounter could see them move to 10th on the log if other results go their way and, this could be their inspiration as they chase their seventh win of the season.

Dreams FC will have something to say about that though as they have proven to be one of the best away performers this season, having won three of their games away from the Dawu Park.

Another win on Sunday could see them jump to second on the log from their present fifth position, and, it will be interesting to see how the home side will respond.

Dreams FC won the first round tie 2-1 at Dawu and it will not be out of place to say they could do the double over their hosts in this Match-Day 21 encounter.

Hasaacas will have to come out to prove otherwise and, this is what the neutral observer will look out for in Sunday’s encounter in the twin port city of Sekondi-Takoradi.

GPL Match-Day 21 Preview: Aduana Stars v Liberty Professionals

Aduana Stars will look to complete the double over Liberty Professionals in their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Match-Day 21 encounter on Saturday afternoon.

This fixture to be played at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa, is an opportunity for the home side to further deepen the woes of Liberty after beating them 3-2 in the first round tie at Dansoman.

A win for Aduana Stars could see them jumped from their present sixth position to third on the table and, they will be up for it as they play a Liberty side that has been very inconsistent this season.

Aduana Stars since joining the Ghanaian top-flight league have been one of the most consistent sides at home, and, they will hope to count on this to record their 10th win of the season.

In the 20 matches played so far, Liberty Professionals has amassed 26 points and sits in eighth position on the table. Their own inconsistency has dented their image as they could have been sitting at the top if they had won the games they favoured to win.

Achieving a result in Dormaa will be a very tall order but not impossible for the Dansoman based side but, they will have to prove they are not shy of collecting three points if they are to do so.

They could move up to seventh on the table with a win with other results going their way and, perhaps they could turn in another of their most brilliant forms in proving the bookmaker’s wrong.

GPL Match-Day 21 Preview: Techiman City v Inter Allies

Ghana Premier League (GPL) debutants, Techiman City will look for their seventh win of this season’s campaign when they host Inter Allies on Saturday afternoon.

This Match-Day 21 fixture is set to come off at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, Techiman where the home side are unbeaten in the league having won all their games but for two which ended in stalemates.

They will therefore feel very confident of collecting all three points as they welcome a side to the Brong Ahafo region that is yet to record an away win all season.

Techiman City has 23 points and are 12th on the table with a game in hand and, they could go ninth with a win if other results go in their favour.

They will be the bookmaker’s favourites to win this one after earning a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at Tema in the first round of the competition.

Inter Allies are 14th and fighting relegation and, will need to start putting together some good results if they hope to avoid the drop.

They have the league’s fourth poorest defensive record together with New Edubiase United, and Ebusua Dwarfs and, if they hope not to add to the 22 goals they have conceded, then they will need to play well in their final third to achieve this.

Winning in Techiman will be a very tall order for the Tema lads and, they will need to prove many doubters wrong in doing so.

GPL Match-Day 21 Preview: AshGold v Ebusua Dwarfs

Reigning champions, AshantiGold SC will look to preserve their four game unbeaten run in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL) when they welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to the mining township of Obuasi.

This Match-Day 21 encounter will be played at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the Miners go in search of their fifth win of the season.

The champions have been an improved outfit this second round of the competition and, will the favoured to win this one in front of their home fans.

They are 10th on the ladder with 24 points and, can move to seventh if they win this game and other results go their way this weekend.

The Miners hold the enviable record as the club with the most drawn games this season (12) from their 20 outings and, will not like to draw this one especially so as they have started putting positive results together lately.

Ebusua Dwarfs were very impressive in midweek in anninaliating Kumasi Asante Kotoko 4-1 at home in Cape Coast and, will feel confident of getting something out of this one.

Dwarfs are a point and a place bellow the Miners on the table and a win could take them to eighth on the log if other results go in their favour.

Achieving that though will be a very big demand on the Abontoa Abontoa Boys as they have not won away from home all season and, AshGold will not want to their first victims away from the Robert Mensah Stadium this season.

They drew 1-1 in the first round tie in Cape Coast and this could be another closely fought affair with the likely outcome slightly favouring the home side.

GPL Match-Day 21 Preview: Chelsea v New Edubiase United

Berekum Chelsea will look for their ninth win of the season when they host bottom club New Edubiase United as the Ghana Premier League (GPL) continues this weekend.

This Match-Day 21 encounter will be played at the Golden City Park, Berekum where Chelsea has lost just twice in the last four seasons.

They will therefore be huge favourites to collect the three points on Saturday afternoon and, a win could lift them seventh from their present ninth position on the table if other results go their way.

Chelsea lost 0 – 1 to leaders Accra Hearts of Oak in midweek in Accra, their 10th of the campaign, and, will be eager to get back to winning ways as they host the league’s bottom club.

New Edubiase United has endured a torrid campaign so far, and will need to start putting results together if they hope to save their season.

They have amassed 18 points from the 20 games they have played so far and, this is not a good return for a team that wants to survive the league.

In the corresponding fixture in the first round of the competition, New Edubiase United won 2-1 at the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi but, they will need to produce a performance better than that if they hope to take anything out of this game.
