Manchester City Facing Possible Transfer Ban

Manchester City are set to come under FIFA investigation after they were reported to the governing body by Argentine side Velez Sarsfield over the transfer of teenager Benjamin Gorre.

The Argentinians have claimed that the Citizens tried to make a move for the midfielder when he was just 15, with clubs not being allowed to sign players until they are 16-years-old under FIFA’s transfer rules.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been handed transfer suspensions in recent seasons for their dealings with underage players.

“Never have I experienced such an immoral act. We don’t know what they offered the father and the child in order to convince them,” Raul Gamez, Velez’s president, told the Daily Telegraph.

“In Velez, we defend values and we act in good faith. We are not interested in collecting 50,000 euros or 1,000,000 euros if said action is prohibited and may affect the player.”

“They offered money to take a 15-year-old child who is in the middle of his stage of development. We don’t know what they offered the father and the child in order to convince them.

“It is crazy to think that our youngsters can find themselves in a situation of vulnerability or abuse in a foreign country, without their family or somebody to protect them.

“We consider Manchester City is a club that cannot violate the regulations of FIFA and even less act with bad faith. We are interested in protecting the child we have been educating since he was 11 and therefore, if necessary, we will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”

Official : Manchester City Sign Bravo From Barcelona

Manchester City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.

The Chile international has signed for a four-year contract at the Etihad for a fee that is believed to be just short of €20 million.

The 33-year-old is expected to be parachuted straight into the starting line up ahead of Willy Caballero and the unfancied Joe Hart.

Bravo completed a medical on Thursday and could make his debut in Sunday’s Premier League match against West Ham United.

“I’m very proud to be joining Manchester City,” Bravo said. “I know the Club is building something very special and I hope I can be part of many successes in the coming years.

“I have followed City’s progress in recent years and obviously know some of my new team-mates from the Copa America.

“It is not easy to leave a club like Barcelona where I had two fantastic years, but the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola was too good to refuse. Now I will challenge the other great goalkeepers the club has and together I hope we can win many trophies.”

City said in a statement on Tuesday that Stones had agreed a six-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, with British media putting the transfer fee at 47.5 million pounds ($61.7 million).

The 22-year-old, who was part of the England squad at Euro 2016 but did not feature as they crashed out in the last 16, was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea last year.

“John is an excellent young English defender and we are all really pleased he is joining us” City director of football, Txiki Begiristain told the club’s website.

“We have worked hard to bring him to City and, we feel we are signing one of the best central defenders in Europe.”

Stones, who joined Everton from Barnsley in 2013 for three million pounds, becomes the world’s second most expensive defender after Brazilian David Luiz, who moved from Chelsea to Paris St Germain for 50 million pounds in 2014.

“Now the deal’s done, I’m looking forward to the next stage in my career,” Stones said.

“I’ve obviously seen what’s going on here at the Etihad, it’s an ambitious club with a great manager so I can’t wait to get stuck in and help achieve the goals.”

Spaniard Guardiola, who joined the Manchester club from Bayern Munich in the off-season, has identified the defender as the perfect fit for his possession-based game.

City begins their Premier League campaign at home to Sunderland on August 13.

Manchester City have announced the signing of Colombia forward Marlos Moreno from Atletico Nacional.

Marlos Moreno

The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Premier League club but will spend the 2016/17 season on loan at LaLiga side Deportivo La Coruna.

Moreno, who cost a reported £4.5million, is City’s seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus and Aaron Mooy.

Moreno told www.mancity.com: “City are one of the best clubs in the world. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big club. I want to make the most of it.

“He’s a versatile player, still learning, but we believe he has a fantastic future in the game and with City.

The Mirror report that Manchester City have recently revived talks after deciding to meet Everton’s £50m valuation of the Englishman, and it looks as though a move could be finalised by the end of the week.

John Stones came to prominence after signing for Everton from Barnsley in 2013. 19-years-old at the time, Stones made 21 Premier League appearances during the 2013/14 season for Everton, his debut season for the club.

However, it was his performances in the 2014/15 campaign which turned the heads of Europe’s elite. The young defender had such a good year that his performances were recognized with a nomination for the Golden Boy Award in 2014, along with the likes of fellow team-mate Gerard Deulofeu, Luke Shaw and Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea were the first team to make the move to sign the promising defender, with the London club regarding him as a replacement for club legend John Terry but both Chelsea and Everton stood firm in their valuations of the player and couldn’t agree a deal.

The failure to secure a move to Chelsea seemed to hamper Stone’s performances last season, with the defender some way off the form he showed in the 2014/15 campaign.

tones will be a welcome addition to the club and it is a huge possibility that under the guidance of captain Vincent Kompany and manager Pep Guardiola, he will become of the best centre backs in the world

Manchester City manager-to-be Pep Guardiola wants Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos as his marquee signing this summer, according to The Daily Star.

The Catalan trainer will replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium and be handed a sizeable summer warchest to revamp the club’s playing squad before 2016-17.

One of the players seemingly heading towards the exit door is Yaya Toure, with a new high-profile central midfielder expected to be signed in his place.

Kroos started the Champions League final for Madrid last night in Milan and has been a critical player for the Spaniards alongside Luka Modric in his debut campaign in La Liga.

Guardiola is set to make an ambitious move for the Germany international and potentially look to build a new team around the former Bayern Munich pass-master.

A significant bid would be needed to convince Madrid to part company with the midfielder this summer given his importance to Zinedine Zidane’s side.

The 20-year-old has been a sensation in Gelsenkirchen and was included in Germany’s provisional squad for Euro 2016 recently, despite only having one full international cap to his name.

Sane started 23 games for Schalke in 2015-16, scoring eight goals, and is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects of a generation for the European nation.

City are expected to revamp their squad upon Guardiola’s arrival, with a war chest available to the current Bayern Munich boss to bring in the players he wants.

The former Barcelona boss has had the chance to monitor Sane closely during his time in Germany and is said to be a major admirer of the versatile forward.

United are also interested in the German and as such a summer tug-of-war for the 20-year-old’s signature between the two Manchester clubs could well be forthcoming.

Aguero Nets 100th Premier League goal

Sergio Aguero is the second quickest player to reach the landmark after former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer

He netted is 100 goal in the 14th minute against Newcastle at St James’ Park to take his tally for the season to 21 in the top flight.

Aguero’s header from an Aleksandr Kolarov free-kick rifled past Karl Darlow but replays showed the goal should’ve been disallowed for offside.

It has taken the Argentine just 147 matches to reach a century of goals.

Alan Shearer is the only player to have reached the landmark in less games, having achieved the feat in just 124 matches in the 1990s.

Thierry Henry is third in the list, having scored his first 100 Premier League goals in 160 games.

Guardiola Already Hijacking Manchester United"s Key Target

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Paris St-Germain star Marquinhos next summer when Pep Guardialo finally takes charge as boss.

French television station TF1 claims incoming boss Pep Guardiola has made Marquinhos a top priority when he arrives at the Etihad.

The news will irk rivals Manchester United, who are reportedly prepared to pay £50m to sign the talented defender.

Chelsea and Barcelona are also rumoured to be interested with the latter ready to break the bank for his signature.

Marquinhos, 21, is rumored to be unsettled in Paris and will seriously consider his options this summer according to reports, it’s thought the Brazil international is unhappy with being deployed at right-back by manager Laurent Blanc as he’d rather be a permanent fixture at centre-back.
